    Sad Dancer deaths

A dancer I knew from my home club passed away yesterday. That's the third dancer I knew that's died in the last three weeks from some kind of drug OD. Another dancer I knew died about a year ago in a drunk driving accident. All of them were my age or younger....Very sad. Has anyone else lost a lot of friends in this industry?

She wasn't my friend, but she was one of the nicest girls I've ever met in the industry (tattoos, piercings, and all). She drowned while drinking on a boat. I danced for one of her regulars afterwards. He ended up paying me for a good hour's worth of dances (during which I mostly hugged him), and cried the entire time. I felt weird about it.

As always, in the strip club world, life goes on...

Sometimes that's what's hardest about life after death. Watching it move on without the people who are gone.

Yeah. A friend from my old club in Philly OD'd Monday and I was told right before my stage set. Yay.

It was a while ago, but a dancer acquaintance at a club I worked at for a while wound up being found dead in a 'dumpster' located behind another business near to the club we worked at, when that business took out their trash the next morning. As far as I know, the 'case' was never solved.

As tragic as deaths via OD's are concerned, the dancer herself was undoubtedly an active contributor to her own demise.

There was a girl at my old club who was SO nice and friendly. She was an amazing dancer and was getting into modeling. We weren't friends outside of work though. I left the club for a few weeks and when I got back there was a picture of her up in the dressing room. I ignored it at first and then decided to look closer and it said RIP and a note about her. I guess she OD'd She had a pit bull and a cat who were like her babies and it made me even more sad thinking how they were doing

A girl at my home club was murdered and found in an abandoned truck about a year after she quit dancing. That's the only death that I'm aware of but then again I never really kept up with girls at the club.

I don't recall any deaths, but I do know a dancer who was in a coma for months....and she pulled out of it! I know this thread is about death, but this woman survived two car crashes. It was a long time before she could function on her own, but she got her life back.

I'm so sorry to hear about all the dancers who died. Very sad and depressing. To my knowledge, I never knew of any dancers at my club dying. But I am still saddened to hear about any dancer passing away. My heart goes out to them. May they rest in peace.

When I danced in Pittsburgh one of the girls I worked with for a long time was found dead in her apartment. Nude, tied up, multiple stabs wounds. They always thought it might be the boyfriend, but no one was ever caught. It was so sad seeing her 5 year old son at her funeral.

I'm not close to many dancers and don't know of any who have died. One that I knew was in a car crash last week. Posted about in the My Last Shift thread. Still makes me sad.

I knew a dancer I was friends with who had cancer and didn't tell anyone. She passed away in her early 20's. It really took everyone by surprise. Upstate NY is really bad with heroin and opiates here, so there have been dancers who have died of OD's, and I was almost one of them....

I didn't know them personally but about a year ago two dancers in my area died from ODing 2 weeks apart. Both well liked, beautiful girls. Super young too, 19 and 21. Heroin and opiates are nothing to play with.

At the start of the month an English dancer was found dead in a club in Melbourne. Poor thing. Hope they figure out what happened.

Last year, a very sweet, beautiful girl at my club committed suicide. Gunshot to the head. We were all in shock. I was glad I was kind to her. A lot of girls gave her a hard time because she was pretty. So sad. We always had good chats in the dressing room. RIP, H.

A few years ago I danced with a really sweet Dominican girl, she looked just like Barbie I swear, and she was really kind decent person..I bought this clubbing top from her right before she died..I guess she got drunk and didn't know how to swim and fell into a pool and drowned. I had to throw the top out , I couldn't look at it after that.

I have noticed that a lot of dancers lead sad lives, which sometimes leads to early death. I notice a lot of girls that are alcoholic and/or on drugs, and can only seem to function that way.

There's no real love in any industry to be honest (at least the ones I work so far).

No, I haven't dealt with this really... but still, this is why life is precious. We're all here temporarily, and can't take anything that seriously.... doesn't matter if you are rich or poor, or black or white, boy or girl, it doesn't matter. **for now, money does matter when it comes to "HOW LONG YOU CAN LIVE"**

Like, on a bad night, I'll say "screw it! I'm going to indulge in this and make myself happy!!!" Life is a gift.

I totally agree! We should have some sort of dancer type convention/workshop to give others optimism, support, love and motivation!

I've known a couple dancers who passed away. One to suicide-this particular club had housing for dancers to stay in, and she hung herself after work one night. She was the only one staying there at the time, so no one noticed until the next day when she didn't come in for work. The bartender went in to see what was going on, and found her-I can't imagine. One died of a heroin OD and another one in a drunk driving accident. I also know a strip club bartender who was murdered by her husband 4 years ago-they were having problems and she wanted a divorce and he didn't. All very sad. RIP.

True but there's many people who need support from a person in the flesh, not just from a person in cyber space. There is two sides to this type of delicate situation. I have meet ups and get togethers all the time for a girl crew that I'm community manager for here in Seattle and it helps a lot of women meet other women who otherwise they may never have met. It also allows people to become more social, especially girls who are loner types or don't know how to meet or socialize with others. And I think other women should do the same in their communities. Most women want to say they support one another but I find that to be so untrue in most cases. But if any of you on here are in Seattle, feel free to message me.
