Ok so I live on the sixth floor and I'm kicking myself for living in this building for so long and always using the elevator. The only time I ever walked the six flights was when the elevator was out of service.
My rescue dog was okay with the elevator until one day I wasn't paying attention and the heavy door slammed into her side :/ since then she always pulls me to take the stairs. So I've been walking up and down the six flights 3 times a day and I have to say I'm feeling a lot better and more energized since I've started doing it regularly.
I think I've always taken the elevator because I've felt lucky to have an elevator in my building that wasn't old and rickety. A couple of my friends here in new york live in walk-ups and always gush about how lucky I am to live on the top floor with an elevator. So I guess I am lucky that I have the option to do one or the other.
But damn I'm so mad at myself cuz imagine what great shape my ass and legs would've been in if I had been doing this every day for the last two years. It took me getting a dog to realize how I could help my body doing something so simple.

So my question is, has anyone made the switch to taking the stairs and did you notice any changes in your body or stamina? Would love to hear ways people incorporate a little bit of working out into their everyday routine
