... and which are your favorites ?

I do - or did - a friend sent me Elfen Lied and I mistakenly watched the whole thing ..... It put me off anime for a bit. My favorite is still Ghost in the Shell, which I think they're making into a movie.

Melonie you are into anime. My daughter lives for it and the conventions. Lol.

Haven't watched any in a long time... But when I was a teen I loved Death Note, Naruto, Ouran Host Club, Vampire Knight.
I really enjoyed the Bible Black Origins and Bible Black New Testament hentai series![]()

Yaaas!!! I loved Death Note, really good series. Also liked The World God Only Knows (has demons, video games, and it's just plain hilarious) and I really liked Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne (what's better then supernatural crime fighting lesbian detectives who constantly drink vodka?!).

Just look at the avatar and signature. Despite "MLP: Friendship is Magic" is an American show, is very anime-like in terms of both art and plot. Japanese people consider it an "anime" anyways.

Me! I loved anime as an awkward preteen. Even though I don't really watch it anymore (besides the occasional YouTube episode of Vampire Princess Miyu) I'll always have a soft spot for it. I was particularly into Sailormoon, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Devil Hunter Yohko.
I'm suddenly extremely nostalgic for the late-90s internet of my childhood.
Not as much in the past few years, but high school through college, I was a big into anime. And since they've been putting a lot on Netflix lately, I'm getting more into it again. My old school favorites are Yu Yu Hakusho, Trigun, and Cardcaptor Sakura. I really liked Elfen Lied! It's disturbing, but I thought it was good. I also tried watching the Rin one, but they took it off Netflix before I could finish.
Lately, I've been trying to get through Deadman Wonderland, Soul Eater, and the rest of Naruto, which I fell off of right after Shippuden started just cuz it was getting hella long. Now that I know there's a legit ending, I feel safe getting back into it.

Queensblade, School Days, Hellsing and Bible Black.
"Fake tits are like Kevlar. They don't guarantee your chances of survival but they sure as hell improve it."
Tempest

Bleach, Naruto, Sailor moon, and Space Dandy is a newer one that i like. I used to love it not so much anymore though, every now and then Ill watch the anime line up on adult swim Sat nights.

+1 on Queensblade.
All time favorite was Manyuu Hikenchou
Current favorite is Total Eclipse

Anything by Hayao Miyazaki is EPIC. My favorites are "Princess Mononoke", "Spirited Away", "Howl's Moving Castle", and "Kiki's Delivery Service"!
"Dancing tables, making deals with devils like a drunk beauty queen"

^^Yes, me too! Miyazaki is the best of the best IMO. He knows how to create the most magical, beautiful, & epic anime films. I love how his characters are dynamic and multifaceted, too. Even the "evil" characters in his stories have good qualities in them, and he enables the audience to feel compassion for them as the story evolves. And the animation is just gorgeous!

okay no one has said it
Attack on Titian.
Love the anime and manga. Read ahead because I couldn't wait any longer for the series. And omg.
The art is wonderful. Story is great! No one is safe. Great action. Also not to mention, I want to go to Japan more then ever because this:
If any fans haven't watched this.... watch it.
EVERYONE WATCH THIS SHOW! IF YOU DON'T LIKE ANIME..... WATCH IT!

^^ I've been slowly making my way through Attack on Titan. The only reason I haven't fully devoted myself to it actually has to do with subs vs. dubs. I really don't mind reading subs and prefer them in some anime, but my TV living room is small and I've generally only been watching TV late at night when I'm winding down and don't want to pay too close attention to anything. In those cases, I need dubbed. And Attack on Titan is only on Netflix subbed.
I only watch subs these days for specific anime that I can't stand dubbed or only come in subs, and they're saved for special times when I can sit and stare at my computer without distraction for an hour or two. So I don't watch them that often.

QueensbladeOr aka big anime titties. I really did like the show and enjoyed the story.
Then you'll LOVE Manyuu Hikenchou ...
Agreed that subtitles are the only way to go !

I'm not into anime BUT I fondly remember a 1980s cartoon that was done anime style (it featured a young couple stranded on a space ship.) It was written for adults to understand but aired for kid's time slots on TV.
I should re-watch "Akira"...I was trying to explain it to my nephew who reads a lot of Manga.
