Dizzy Client Recognized Me From BP in Professional Business Setting

I know I'm probably being a whiney bitch who is butt hurt because I got called out...However it's not that in itself that's bothering me.

I recently purchased a new car from a dealership and my husband & I (who knows I'm a body rub girl -- strictly, no "extras" ) went to have our car serviced. As we waited we had small talk with a friend of ours who started working at that particular dealership. Little did I know a potential "marked" client of mine was there and he saw me and felt like he knew me from somewhere.( After researching the phone number I marked him as a DNA due to the simply fact he worked at the same location I purchased my car from and I knew I'd be back for maintenance.) Since he saw our friend talking to us, he inquired about me to him and was saying how I looked so familiar. Apparently, makeup less & wig less I still look myself! Instead of assuming I looked so familiar because I was a customer of -big name dealership-He proceeded to tell our friend that he was always on BP and that I looked like one of the girls off of BP in the ESCORT section I've never posted in the escort section, and my ad is very tastefully done. Not even the simplest suggestion of HE activities, tasteful pictures, etc. The friend never saw my ad, #, or pictures, was simply just TOLD what the site was about. Going off that our friend calls my husband and asks to speak to him privately and goes on this tangent about how I'm an escort behind his back, blah blah blah...Husband had to correct him, and told him he knew what I did and that I was a BODY RUB girl. Please note, I'm not dissing escorting in any way. Been there, done that years ago when I wasn't married...It's amazing, out of all the people I saw in a fairly small tourist town I never had any issues like this before.

I guess my whole thing is, from a professional POV isn't there anything regarding talking about customers and telling your co-workers that they're escorts when you don't even have your facts straight?? I've always thought there was a measure of discretion on both ends, but now I'm paranoid as hell. He's a manager for the commercial vehicle side and his name, picture, and business info is all online just from researching his phone number. You would think he wouldn't use his business line for entertainment activities.

Where I live is such a big city and for that to happen really just blew my mind. I guess I just feel exploited because I was doing things in my personal life and it got thrown in my face from an unexpected source. Guess there's nothing I can do to retaliate, huh? Except be more careful next time...

Its just a risk you take in our industry, hon. Even though you're not an actual sex worker, "birds of a feather flock together." Its bullshit, unfair, and unprofessional. But those are HIS bad manners...NOT yours. He's the one looking like an ass. don't think you're the only one who noticed, either. Think about it... why the fuck was HE on BP to begin with?

    What a jackass.

^^Exactly! Why the fuck was he on BP to begin with?! He totally made himself look like an ass, so dont worry about a thing. People are probably thinking wow, he must go on BP escort section a lot, what a loser! lol (and no disrespect to escorts or anyone on BP). Always remember, the people who look down on others for how they make their living are the losers, not you. No one has the right to judge you or shame you for what you choose to do with your life as an ADULT. They dont pay your bills, and its none of their damn business!

Some people can be indiscreet and obnoxious, he was both in spades. Given the legal and social issues with body rubs or sex work, I believe discretion is an unwritten contract. People that violate that contract are despicable people and I think it'd be all one needed to blackball him. He is a danger to himself and others, and a fucktard to boot. Outing a person is a serious breech of trust. I freaked out after a provider I saw went to work at my gym, I thought I was worried for her, but really I was the one freaking. Didn't make an appointment for a long time and she was only ever polite and discreet at the gym. At some point during small talk, quietly, she reminded me that she was still taking appointments. She handled things perfectly, if only everyone had that same composure and integrity.

The guy admitted that he searches BP likely for 'escorts', so maybe he is not so lily-white. Double standard does still exist. And some jerks have no discretion at all.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

That's how you would think anyone would react, both parties would feel a little awkward, but you wouldn't go around pointing "he visits providers!" -- "she's a provider!!" It's just one of those things where you smile, nod politely, and keep on your merry way! I agree with you as well, it'll only be a matter of time before he crosses the wrong woman and he'll regret it for the rest of his life. Keep your personal entertainment personal, and don't bring it into your professional business life.

Thanks ladies, I must admit it did hurt my pride a little and pissed me off but I shouldn't let it. I'll revamp my ad, make a few changes, and go at it again.

Deny, deny, deny. When I am in public of around certain people, I am a stay at home mom that bartends once a week. Oh, that stripper looks like me? Thanks, I guess you're trying to say I'm hot, but it wasn't me. You did nothing wrong. That guy has no manners. Be happy you already had him on the no service list. Imagine what he would have said if you had an appointment once. Maybe you just need to replace your ad pics with the face excluded or blurred out.

I would call the dealership to talk to a manager. Complain about the way the customer acted and how he is slandering you. Since you are not an escort it is slander. (Definition: oral defamation, in which someone tells one or more persons an untruth about another which untruth will harm the reputation of the person defamed. Slander is a civil wrong (tort) and can be the basis for a lawsuit.) Tell him that you will never use their dealership for services again and follow through if he isn't reprimanded. If the manager doesn't/ won't take action, take it to a regional or parent company.

/If this becomes more of a problem, I definitely will. I technically wasn't even supposed to know about the conversation between our "friend" and my husband. He's my husband--he tells me everything. (The important stuff anyway, lol) I guess he felt like such an idiot accusing me of sucking D for cash behind my husbands back and it turning out not to be true that he didn't want me to know about the convo because he didn't want to "make things weird between us." Too late. Next time I see you, I'll make it a point to be extra nice and refrain from telling him what an idiot he is.

It's the home dealership where my car is covered for all repairs/maintenance so I'll definitely cross paths with the place again. If I have any other issues, some people will be losing their jobs. I've since deleted my ads off of BP and now I'm working on getting my pictures off of other sites that steal the ads off of CL and post on their website (free advertisement, but sucks when you want your face off the internet associated with your ads) Since there's nothing to link to for the ad and pictures, will they automatically erase themselves over time or do I need to contact each site individually and get my stuff taken down?

No more frontal faced pictures, I'll blur them out for sure. I don't have time for this crap, I've got bills to pay and mouths to feed!

Oh God, I know the feels. I've had bitchy dancers at work see my ads, & I actually recognized a well-known girl when she came to eat at a restaurant I worked at (I didn't say anything but I kept looking at her so she pulled her hat down, lol.)

Given that reverse image search & lack of manners on the Internet is so common now-a-days, I tell girls to avoid full face pics.

Personally if I was in the same situation I might call the guy's boss and mention that he did this wildly inappropriate thing. I'm sure he thought he was doing a "good deed" but not really. Kind of stupid if he caused a breakup due to gossiping (potentially) & you had to take your business elsewhere...hmmm?

    I hate people sometimes. Gah.

I had someone request an appt then went on to say he used to see me as a patient... #Awkward. I did not respond further and neither did he.

Yeah definitely! He really did think he was doing my hubby a favor!!! I wish my hubby would have, lol. I guess if he had come to him disrespectfully and was a jerk about it he would've handled it differently. Apparently he was "nice" about it and apologized and understood after my hubby corrected him. It still doesn't make me feel any better about him though lol. I'm a Taurus, I'm bad about holding grudges. Trying to work on that, lol.

As for the guy who is the commercial truck manager that started it all.... He can go to hell.

I've had it happen too. I do body rub ( non sexual ) and Js distant co-worker told him I was on escorting boards . He asked and I told J about the stupid review boards and it was dropped but that guy is a moron ... Who admits they extensively troll adult service boards ? Some of these people, I swear. It's like discretion just NEVER occurs to them.

He need his a$$ beat for real though. With the biggest pimp hand + 3 rings & a pinky ring. Make that brass knuckles.

What a wack a$$ dude running his mouth - and like the other said in his effort to 'save' your husband from the 'cheating escort' he outed himself as someone who scours Backpage trolling for sex.

    Such an idiot!

This reminds me of a thread I read on a customer's forum. The guy was asking if he should do his friend a favor by letting him know a girl in his friend's list is an escort even though he doesn't know the nature of the relationship between the two

Oh wow, he really asked that?? I guess I'm just the kind of person who would prefer to stay as far away from the stickiness of a situation like that. If I ran my mouth about all the dirt I see on others firsthand....whew! I just stay out of it. You would think others would do the same.
