    Default Power's out?!

    Hey ladies

My power is out right now (so glad I haven't used any data on my phone so I can still browse the net!) and I was like. Hmm. What do the ladies of SW do when their internet/power is out? I like to light candles and relax, personally. If it's stll light out I might read, otherwise just play games on my handheld and make Facebook statuses where I complain a lot. I keep my laptop on, but closed, so I can keep my phone charged.

Do any of you take advantage of the time and try to make simple clips? Im thinking of using my phone to record a few masturbation clips to post when my power and net is back up. After that I'll probably sleep.

I used to live in an apt. where the power would go out at least twice a month.
I realized then how dependent on electricity I am.
It was before I cammed, or did clips, so I would usually just read out on my balcony, if it was during the day, or sleep of at night.
I couldn't even masturbate because I use my hitachi, and even that took electricity to run.
if that happened now, I def. would make a few clips, or nap.
Since I don't have a landline anymore, I wouldn't even be able to log into my pso lines, for fear that my mobile phone battery, and charger battery would run low before the power was restored.
So, yes, clips would def. be my first choice. By candlelight.
Good luck in whatever You decide to do. I hope your electricity gets restored.

I usually just go to the liquor store to pay my SoCal Edison bill to get it turned back on.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hahah nice. Yeah I'll make clips. I walked to the store to see if there was anything I could use as a prop and ended up just getting a pack of smokes for a cig complication I want to do. I got my email saying that my c4s store was approved so I have a ton of incentive right now.

I have a pole in my yoga room, so I like to light candles, put on headphones, and dance for hours.

Oooh, that sounds so relaxing. I kind of want to get a pole when I have my own place. Ah, I can just imagine the candles!

I start up my 6000 watt propane fueled generator ! Down here way south of the border, we're lucky to make it through a single month without an extended power outage of some sort. I also have about 15 minutes worth of uninterruptible power supply feeding my home computer, monitor, modem, etc. to give me time to deal with the generator. I considered spending the extra money for an automatic transfer switch that would start the generator and switch power sources automatically, but naahh ... wasn't worth the extra $1000+

It is relaxing! I need another day with no power ASAP. I'm having my place totally renovated, which is like living in a construction zone. No power=NO WORKMEN! No pounding, no hammering, no drilling... Yay!

Hehehe. My power hasn't gone out since the other day. Apparently there was something wrong with an underground wire? I don't know. They kept delaying turning it back on for hours. I actually went to the store that was just a block away and they had power. The grid here is so weird... Either way, I ended up having a nice day. Made a couple clips. Slept. Lol.

    Sleep, go out, or fuck.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

Be sure to put some of that stuff in the gasoline that keeps it from going bad, crank that thing up once a month or so.

^^^ that's why the last generator I bought uses propane fuel ... which essentially remains 'good' forever. I also have a 420 lb = 100 gallon propane tank, which provides me up to two weeks of generator running time.

Indeed, gasoline degrades within months if it isn't 'treated' with additives. Even with 'additives', the longest it is likely to remain 'good' is two years, and really shouldn't be kept for more than one year.

For my earlier 4000 watt gasoline generator, I was careful to buy only non-ethanol gasoline, I was diligent about adding a maximum dosage of 'StaBil' fuel stabilizer additive, and was also diligent about letting the generator engine 'run out of gas' ( i.e. shutting off the valve in the fuel line between tank and carburetor ) rather than simply turning the engine off ( which leaves gas in the carburetor bowl which can gum up the float / orifices ). If you don't let the generator engine 'run out of gas', indeed you should run the generator engine once a month to make sure that the 'old' gas in the carburetor is burned up and replaced with new' gas from the generator tank.

Also, with my earlier 4000 watt gasoline generator, I kept 2 five gallon cans worth of treated gasoline on hand. One problem with any substantial and long lasting power outage is that gas stations won't have power to run their pumps ... which usually means your generator is only useful as long as you still have gasoline which you purchased before the power outage began. Gasoline also has seasonal blends, meaning that attempting to get a generator engine to start in the winter time with gas formulated for hot summer months can be a PIA ! So every fall, I would take any unused gas remaining in my two 5 gallon gas cans, pour it into my car's gas tank, fill the two 5 gallon cans with 'new' non-ethanol gas, put in the StaBil additive. Also, if I hadn't run the generator very much that year ( meaning that some of the gas remaining in the generator tank could be more than a year old ), I would also pop the rubber fuel line off between the generator's gas tank and fuel shut-off valve, drain any old gasoline left in the generator tank, reattach the rubber fuel line, and fill the generator tank with 'new' gasoline with the StaBil additive.

I have a diesel generator for my farm. Power goes out down here and I'm in a bit of trouble. My well pump wouldn't work, home phone would go down (there is no cell service were I am, you can pick Verizon up half a mile down the road), freezers down.
You can pick up a nice generator to run essentials for $500-$700, its a great investment.

I have a 100lb tank I run my smokehouse off. What brand of generator do you have that gets two weeks out of a tank?
    100lb tank= $129
    100lbs propane= $95
Now I want a propane generator.

this one ... . Two reasons for the high price ... first, the Honda engine that will last for decades. Second, the generator is 'brushless', thus putting out sine wave power clean enough for my computers to directly use. Some of the really inexpensive generators make use of carbon brushes, and if you don't replace them before they wear down, the generator can put out some seriously 'dirty' power which can potentially damage computers and appliances equipped with sophisticated electronics.

Agreed that an extended power outage can create costly losses ... especially so if you have a thousand dollar's worth of food in your fridge and freezer. And doubly so if you live in a climate cold enough to freeze pipes etc. While I was still living in NY an ice storm once caused a several days long power outage in the dead of winter ... which wreaked havoc for residents who didn't have generators and gas to run them.

Also note that your 100lb tank holds about 23 gallons of propane. My 420lb tank holds 100 gallons of propane. With the Honda engine, at about 1/2 load, my new generator burns about 6-7 gallons of propane in 16 hours ( I don't leave it running overnignt ).

I looked at getting a diesel generator. With additives, diesel fuel will 'keep' longer than gasoline. But 'good' diesel generators are larger and more expensive. And unless you are on a farm thus can take large deliveries of agricultural diesel, road fuel diesel like gasoline is also subject to 'road tax'. And, of course, the fuel additives can add another 25-50 cents per gallon to total fuel cost.

Back to the ice storm, diesel fuel / engines seriously hate to start in very cold weather. One of my neighbors had a diesel generator, but found that his fuel had 'gelled up' and couldn't flow from the tank to the engine. Thus he had to take the fuel line apart, start the diesel engine on Kerosene, and then quickly switch back to diesel after the fuel tank and engine had warmed up.

Filling my 420lb = 100 gallon propane tank for the first time cost me a little over $300.

My tractor runs off 'dyed diesel' so I always have it around making sense to get a diesel generator. Not having to pay federal or state taxes on fuel is also nice. My generator isn't a crate one, its permanently mounted on a slab. Livestock antibiotics, vaccines, and meds need to be kept at a constant temp, I lose power I lose vials. In the winter I couldn't run trough de-icers, stall heaters. I'm stressed just thinking about it.
