    Default Photoshoot for website?

I am woefully shy and never come out looking sexy on pics, always 'cute' ;-/. A friend has recently set up a studio and is offering editing and website ready editing, and I want to have a shoot with her for my new model centro site. I'm wondering what kind of poses and looks would be best to aim for? I'm most definitely the 'girl next door' type, not overtly porny or even glamoury. Anyone else like me that has a personal site i can take a peek at for inspiration? All tips and suggestions VERY gratefully received lol x

I feel your pain! I hate taking pictures. Keep in mind that you will always be your worst critic. I bet some of your pictures will turn out really sexy and you will think they aren't. If you have a boyfriend or a trusted male friend, ask him to look at the pictures.

Keep in mind that most of the pictures you take during your shoot are not going to be great. I used to help a friend of mine with photoshoots for her fashion line and the photographer would take 50-100 to get 2 or 3 great pics for each look. If the model was really amazing, there would be more usable pics, but the average model no matter how beautiful she was, would not look amazing in all of her pictures.

    Here are a few suggestions:

As far as posing goes, I'd suggest you go watch top model, especially the first few seasons. All that crap she says about smiling with her eyes is true. Be creative and use props like chairs and what not.

Take a bunch of outfits with you to try on and use during your shoot. Some outfits might not photograph well, so it's best to have many options. Bring pegs with you! They come in handy to hold back extra fabric that might bunch and make you look fat in your super sexy out fit.

Keep in mind what angles you look good in. Photography is all about those angles. You cam so you should already have a sense of what angles make you look the best. Really work those.

Guys like close up shots. So get a close up of your boobs, bum, legs and feet.

If you are doing your own makeup try to use a foundation that doesn't have spf as that type of makeup doesn't photograph well. Pick up an HD powder if you can.

Remember to feel sexy during your shoot.

Good luck. I am sure they will turn out great. And guys love the girl next door.

Do a google search for model poses and look at the photos that come up. That's what I did. I also found that when I can see myself I can pose better, so if you have a full length mirror you can put in front of you it will help a lot. You could even set up your webcam on your laptop and point that so you can see what you're doing.

I use my high res photos for graphics on my profiles and avatars, but have found that some of them do not crop well or look a bit off (like my head is cut off in the photo). I try to pose in different ways that can fit in "square" images. For example, if I crop the image it will be the same on all sides so 400x400px but will fit my entire body in it without looking awkward, that works for avatars.

Images that can be cropped to a smaller rectangular image work well for headers and banners. I will stand or lay down with my limbs closer to my body that way I don't have to crop any part of my body.

A search for "model poses boudoir" brought up the best results for laying down or sitting on a chair/stool. Those poses are the ones I'd use for banners and headers because they would fit perfectly without forcing you to crop weird parts of your body, plus the focal points are sexy as hell. Like this one:

if your friend specialises in portraits then im sure they can help you with poses and angles and things. You may find the results much better than you think they will be, so long as the photographer and the model both know whats to be achieved, maybe find some pics of girls that you like and show the tog.
