    Default Back to the Basics

Hi, my name's Pascale, and I want to be a stripper. I know you probably get a lot of newbies on this site, but I have been reading the beginners' posts, and I have some questions that I haven't found answers to.

I have several random questions, so bear with me.

    -What's the VIP room?
-How is it that you can "lose money?" I thought this was a job.
-What do you do when you're not giving a guy attention? Just walk around looking pretty?
-Tips for auditioning: not just clothing, but what kind of attitude are they looking for?

    thanks

The VIP room is a private room for the dancers to upsell to customers. It depends on the club, but usually the club rents out each room for a certain price, and then the dancer charges by the hour, or half hour, for private dances.

Dancers can lose money when they walk out in the negative. This can happen because clubs charge a house fee in order for dancers to work a shift. House fees vary from club to club. Dancers are independent contractors, so they don't receive a paycheck from the club. We pay house fees in order to work, use their stage, dressing room, etc. Also, many clubs expect dancers to tip out to the DJ, housemom, bouncer, etc. So if you work a shift and don't make any money, you walk in the negative (it sucks, but it rarely happens. Usually you can make something to cover your house fee.) Also, most clubs waive the house fee for a new dancer on her first night.

At work, always stay busy! This is important to prevent boredom and to make sure you keep making money. If you're not talking to a customer or selling lap dances or VIP, then you should either be on stage, in the dressing room freshening up, or walking around looking for your next customer.

As for the kind of attitude clubs are looking for, all I can say is be confident! Confidence is key, and smile.

    Good luck!
