Wow! I was actually worried Bruce / Caitlyn would look like a overtly masculine woman but the stylists and surgeons did some good work. Looks good!

Keeping up with the Kardashians is my only "guilty pleasure", I watch it every week and I am so happy for Caitlyn. I was also worried about an overly masculine look but she's stunning, sexy and super feminine. Love it!

Daaaang, gurrrrl! She looks amazing!!! This is an incredible step for the trans community.

(and just a reminder that we can't only decide to support conventionally attractive trans people - they ALL need our support regardless of appearance!!!)

I think photoshop should get a lot more credit than stylists or surgeons. Magazine covers are not actual people, they are artist renditions of what people vaguely look like. I saw the Bruce Jenner interview a couple weeks ago, there is no way all those wrinkles simply went away.

It's fair to say this is mostly true. The wonders that photoshop can do are insane. But we could say the same of a highly skilled surgeon or team of surgeons. Makeup artists are great also. The combination of the 3 just created 2015's wow moment. I think she looks like a young Jessica Lange.

I'm not a fan of the Kardashian/Jenner media messes. The only reason I have even been following this transformation is because it really is a big deal. This is a huge amount of publicity for the trans community. It may not have happened if Bruce hadn't had access the media that his family brought in with their reality shows. But because of all the attention, Caitlyn can be a kind of spokesperson and bring attention to issues society would otherwise ignore. I really hope she is able to use this to her advantage.

This is how i feel about this whole thing. Anything that improves the situation for transgendered people is a good thing, they have been shit on for too long and almost nobody really gives a shit. On the other hand the Kardashians are not exactly likeable people and this douchebag in particular literally killed someone not two months ago.

I think she looks beautiful! I think she may of gotten a face lift with the rest of her 10 hour facial procedure because her neck still looks wrinkly in the photos even with photoshop.
This does mean bruce is gone for good..

As a Transsexual woman, I am so proud of Caitlyn Jenner. The love and support she's been receiving is greatly deserved.

A friend of mine wrote this and I MUST post it here:

I'm going to say this one time and then so help me God I'm done discussing this. Caitlyn Jenner looked absolutely beautiful and there is no getting around that. But the reactions I'm seeing across the board in regards to Caitlyn's look are symptomatic of the misogynistic and patriarchal society in which we live. Whether she had been beautiful or not, the reality is we are now meeting Caitlyn as her most authentic self. We operate under the delusion that it is a woman's obligation to be as pretty as possible at all times, as though beauty is something that women owe the world. It isn't. A woman who lacks conventional pulchritude is just as valid as a woman who possesses it in spades. Let's celebrate this person who is living in her truth, rather than just congratulating her for being aesthetically pleasing. As women, all women, we are so much more than that.

True. This is right on. However, I think as the dust settles so to speak it will be easier to see from this point of view. I haven't seen all the vanity fair pics but the ones I have seen they are all 'done up' kind of fancy model type pics. Eventually I assume we will see 'normal' day to day looking pics.

I haven't seen the entire spread yet. But for the pics that I have seen, she looks more powerful as a woman than he ever did as an Olympian. I really do love this boss bitch look though. Elegant and fierce honey. I saw the one where she's stepping out of a sports car. Oh my GOD, it's sooo 80's. I'm just waiting for the faux fur spread with the big hair. However it is a bit odd that it takes a man to remind me of how much fun it is to be a girl. And also Im just happy that she didn't spell Caitlyn with a K.

I'm going to be a totally selfish fangirl and say I'll miss Bruce! I liked what a good dad he was on the show. He was making big strides to being a better father to his older kids. He was the shit when he was on the Wheaties box, doing shows, on magazine covers. He was an athletic phenom! I hope now that he's become Caitlyn he doesn't stop being competitive and going hard. I feel a bit like Khloe -- I'm sorry to see him go.

Im sure you didn't mean any harm when you posted this. But being a woman doesn't make you any less competitive or driven. We go hard around here all day every day. And Miss Caitlyn has been around the dog eat dog world of show business. If anything she may become even more fierce now that she can be who she wants to be. I know from experience how much can be accomplished once you come clean. Love,Success and Happiness.

I think I understand what you mean - you miss the CHARACTER of Bruce on his show and in the media. That's a huge part of what makes Caitlyn so incredibly brave - that she knew she'd be disappointing millions of fans by going through with her transformation into who she truly is.

(confession: I've never seen this show, and I had no idea who this person was until I saw the media talking about her as a trans-woman)

Haha, that's my only hesitation with any of this...the name she chose! It seems very adolescent - almost childish - to me. I don't think the name suits her. That's just my own personal opinion though, of course, which does not matter at ALL (for real).

I am so happy for her. She is so strong for dealing with the media's bullshit with her transition. And I'm excited for her life as the woman she always been! Standing ovation. Also totally posting what Marina's friend said on my FB so my backwards ass family can see.

It's her name to choose. Fuck, sometimes I hate the name my parents gave me. If I ever get the chance to rename myself, it's gonna be Charlotte (Charlie for short).

Or she might go soft and femme out! Obviously it's her choice but I'm in my feelings and I know what I'd love to see--a Billie Jean King type chick. But you know some women like to go all soft and I suspect after all of these years of holding back the feminine side it might be maribou and modeling for the next few YEARS!
No one has to school me on the fact that women can go hard. The odd thing on this board is often posters assume they know your POV or frame of reference. You haven't been around as long as I have so you don't know that I'm not a traditionalist or a rigid in the box thinker. I've LIVED LGBT before most of our current members even thought of strapping the heels on and long before it was cool and somewhat accepted in the mainstream. I mean all the way out, full on womanist, picket yo' shit and speak truth to power even in the workplace type bitch. So yeah, I'm aware that women have choices, I'm just sharing my fantasy version of who she'll be.

I think it's normal to judge celebrities and have opinions on their silly little lives. I mean, that's part of having such a public lifestyle. I have NO issues with anyone on this board saying things like "I miss Caitlyn when she was more focused on being a parent" or whatever.

As long as anyone doesn't disrespect / shame her decision to transition, and as long as no one mis-genders her, we're all good.

"Im sure you didn't mean any harm when you posted this." was the first thing I said when I posted. And no I do not assume to know your POV. Wasn't trying to school you. I'm only going off of what you posted. And you are entitled to your feelings. Who am I as a fun loving Femme to take that away from you? And I slightly agree with you about pov and perception. But maybe I'm standing at a different angle? People underestimate me quite often or jump to conclusions on who I am. I'm soft spoken and very girly when you first meet me. But then are surprised to see how dominant my personality really is. I love duality and contradictions. I think this is why I'm so excited to see how this turns out.

You know someone just pointed out to me that name changes aren't that expensive. I plan to change the spelling of my first name and drop my middle when I get married. Getting a new passport and everything. I look at it as being who I want to be.
