    Default Nervous

Hey, so I have an interview Thurs night... will start after interview if all goes well. Owner said no fee first night and I can leave whenever I want. Its a floating lap dance party with semi private rooms for the dances. We all start out in dresses at the bar area with the guys then go off into the semi private as guys want dances. I'm super worried that I'm gonna be too nervous to do well. Like what if all these other girls are pros and working the room and gorgeous and I just fade into the background? Or what if I give a dance and look like a fool?? I've never given one before!!! wahhh Also, thinking of a name... I kinda like Viv ?

eeek thanks. Its in NYC and basically they have a homebase but move to different venues around the city.. Don't know what that will mean for regulars, but the owner said that everyone who comes through goes through a screening process (no walk ins) and its mostly businessmen

Oh, it's an underground club. Why did you choose that instead of a more legit club ??

I don't think I'm ready to be on a stage/pole in front of a ton of people. Id be nervous going on stage or like a play or something never mind stripping! I figured I'd use his to try to get comfortable before moving on to something big ...hopefully that's a good idea ? :/

Why don't you try gogo bars in Jersey?

I live in Manhattan and don't have a car! So I am worried about seeing people I know but I don't know how I'd travel or if I'd feel comfortable traveling too far by train. Yeah I'm starting to doubt the scene ... Like maybe I'd be better off in a more well established place? But I'd have stage fright going up to read an essay never mind trying to impress everyone with dancing! So confused :/

Did you end up working anywhere? I also am very stage fright and have never done well with public speaking or performing on a stage (dance recitals, plays), but to me it's not as nerve-wracking because you don't have to do much... Especially at most of the higher end clubs in NYC. Most of the girls just sway and pose when they're on stage and the club I'm at doesn't even allow pole tricks, but even the clubs that do aren't filled with girls that know how to do them. Also, it's super dark and I never feel like I'm in the spotlight as much because of that.

Lap dances don't consist of anything complicated. The guy will just be in awe of your naked body in front of him- unless he's an asshole or a loser he isn't going to be "critiquing" your dance ability- as long as you're not standing a foot away and giving zero physical contact (like an air dance), you should be fine. Go to a club as a customer first with a friend and watch how the girls dance and just get an overall idea of what it will be like.

Also, it's super dark and I never feel like I'm in the spotlight as much because of that fact alone. There are a ton of girls working with you and all eyes aren't going to be focused on you at all times- and if they are, then congrats- you're doing something right!

Stripping isn't rocket science, & it's not sm kind of overly-critiqued 'Dancing With the Stars'+Olympic ice skating popularity contest.

Just abt every1 is nervous as fk the first time they get up on that stage. No one starts out knowing a blessed thing abt anything, it's the epitome of OJT. You just jump in head first & sink or swim.

If a club or other establishment is 'underground', it is that way for a reason. At a place like that, stage fright could easily turn out to be the least of your worries. If you're that terrified of being up in front of ppl that you would settle for a potentially much riskier scene, maybe you're really just not ready for this job.
