    Default Favorite curling iron?

I have naturally straight hair and I just can't seem to get it right, curling my hair with a flat iron... I am giving up and buying a curling iron lol

What are your favorite curling irons for big loose curls? Do you prefer using a curling iron or a flat iron?

I'm thinking of trying out rollers too since I wear extensions, it seems less time-consuming to just put the rollers in my hair extensions and wait overnight instead of having to curl them with an iron. Shampoo and conditionner won't work, my hair is really straight!!

I use several different brands- I have to keep rebuying them because I bent the pins on one pair and burnt through the cord on the other one! No I don't drink! Just wasnt paying attention.

Get one without the clamp which holds the hair in place- just get a round barrel. Trust me! Also, a smaller circumference barrel will give a tighter curl but I find that the larger barrels drop out so quickly and the hair loses shape and just becomes a big volume, wavy mess. It sounds sexy but trust me its not. I find starting with a tighter curl I also get several days without the need for touch ups- and the curls loosen up and look sexy, soft and feminine.

Another tip, if not included in the pack, use a woolen glove on your hand as you wrap hair around iron, it helpds to protect from the heat. I aslo have bought packs with two different sized barrels in the box- not really necessary but it makes working with fringe easier when using a smaller barrel.

As far as brands go i used revlon and remington. I think ceramic is better for your hair? Maybe ask the other ladies.

    good luck.

I was wondering whether I should get a curling iron with or without clamp too... I don't even know what iron size I would need, 1 inch? 1.25 ? 1.75? Lol it's so confusing!

Thanks for the advice, very helpful

if you get hot rollers you must have these

I put my hair up before putting on makeup - when I leave I take a make up travel bag with me - when I get to my destination I pull out the clamps / rollers and put in the bag - shake my hair out - hair spray it and go

I dont hot roll my hair as much as I used to

Sarah Potempa Beachwaver. I clamp the hair into the iron, then press the button as the barrel rotates. I get nice curls and I work faster with that than using a curling wand.

I first got a T3 curling wand set with 3 interchangeable barrels (1", 1.25" and 1.5"), and was really disappointed by the product. The iron is white, stained easily (I have black hair), my hair often stuck to the iron, was hard to remove without ruining the curl... I then got the GHD soft curl 1.25" curling iron and loving it GHD products are expensive but so worth it.

I don't like the 1", the curls are too tight for my liking, I really wanted to love the 1.5" but Flickdreams was right, with curls that big they drop very quickly! Styling my hair with a 1.5" barrel, my curls barely last an hour. I absolutely love the 1.25", not too tight but not too big, I wear hair extensions and the hair stayed curled for days after I went out, removed my clip-ins and put them on my dresser lol. I like to keep the 1" to style my bangs and the sides.
