    Default Midwest/Detroit area hiring standards

My big move is in a week now, and I'm wondering if I should force myself to go on a crash diet so I can get hired. I have a nice hourglass figure, but I'm afraid I've been spoiled by the lax standards on Bourbon St. Is it normal to see someone who is 135-140 pounds at 5'6" in the Detroit area clubs? (FWIW, I'm a moderately-tattooed blonde white lady who still looks 25.)

Um you will DEFINITELY get hired in Detroit. I worked at Trumpps and my friend worked at Scores, which is the new one which is supposed to be "up-scale" but there's a lot of... hate to say it out of shape and uggos. Detroit in general I had terrible experiences with. Extras galore. Like can hear people fucking next to me. Terrible managers. After 6 months i drove down to Toledo on the weekends and always made good money so if you can make the drive I can recommend you some clubs.

I did hear Grand Rapids or Lansing was better though I have no experience. I don't recommend my worst enemy to work in Detroit, honestly.

btw i was 5'6 and 140 lbs when I worked in Detroit and I was pretty average comparatively.

Yes you will get hired in Detroit. There are plenty of girls that size working at Detroit clubs. I've worked at Trumpps, Players, Coliseum, Landing Strip by the airport, Hustler, Toy Chest, even Scores once, etc etc. You will be fine just call ahead ro see what's a good time to come in and dress to impress, show up with full hair and makeup dolled up. Detroit is one of the worst cities when it comes to extras, but I don't partake in that and have still made a great living for myself.

Most would. The higher caliber clubs might put an older dancer on day shift. But there are plenty of clubs that have a decent amount of "older" dancers. But I am speaking for the Detroit area here, not the entire Midwest.

What are the good clubs in Toledo? I tried out like the showgirls one and it was terrible, too many rules for me to understand and follow

Platinum Showgirls was the one you tried? I heard Scarlett's and Platinum Showgirls were the best, but I've never worked at Platinum Showgirls. I danced at Scarlett's very briefly, but this was way back in 2004, so I have no current info, sorry! Scarlett's was nice, but I worked there during the daytime. If I were to go back, it would be at night. It's a must to have regulars during the daytime there, or else you won't make any money because it is very slow. I made slightly over $100 for a dayshift there and that was with hustling my ass off. There were only 8 girls during the day doing 2 song sets on stage, so you have to go on stage quite often.

I heard none of the other Toledo clubs are worth it except for Scarlett's and Platinum. There is a Deja Vu which looks like it might get decent business at night, but like typical Deja Vu's, they take too much of your money. Last I checked, you only keep $13 out of every $20 dance, plus you have to pay a house fee on top of that.

Yeah I asked girls what's the best club in Toledo and they said platnium showgirls. I worked a Monday night shift and there was nobody there, but I didn't judge it because of that.. It was only a Monday. I filled out piles of paperwork and they just had so many rules. Like for a certain song, you have to walk around and ask people to give you dances at a special rate (30 for 2 songs) and you can't have the customer touch you when you're giving dances, nipple tape required, etc. too much rules for me tbh
