    Default RIP Blaze Starr

To be completely honest, I had no idea who this woman was until tonight. My friend just sent me the article. Anyway, Blaze Starr was a burlesque dancer from the 50s through the 80s.

Is this OG bad bitch status or what: "[S]he made many of her own costumes, part of a stage wardrobe, including three mink coats, that was valued in 1967 at $20,000 (about $142,000 in today’s money). [...] She was earning up to $100,000 a year in the mid-1960s." Damn, girl. Talk about a top earner.

The article also mentions she quit stripping in the 80s because it had become too raunchy. I wonder what she'd think about dancing today!

To be honest I thought she was long dead. There's a movie about her relationship with a politician called Blaze. Her and Tempest Storm were one of the last original burlesque performers.

The movie about her was entertaining. I'm glad she enjoyed burlesque while the getting was good.

Blaze Starr (born Fannie Belle Fleming; April 10, 1932[3] – June 15, 2015) was an American stripper and American burlesque comedienne. Her vivacious presence and inventive use of stage props earned her the nickname "The Hottest Blaze in Burlesque". She was also known for her affair with Louisiana governor Earl Long. The 1989 film Blaze was based on her memoir.

I remember watching that movie, vaguely. Gorj, she was an Aries. Maybe there is/will be some books out there about her?

I once saw Tempest Storm at a Burle-q. I thought she looked great with really nice boobs. She did well onstage too.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.
