I had no rhythm at all when i started dancing, after a couple months i started getting better. it will take time but youll get he hang of it. Although with being injured i think it might be best not to, you dont have to do pole tricks but you still dont want to risk hurting yourself anymore then you already are.

At most clubs you're not required to do any pole work. But even if you stay off the pole you should let that injury heal properly before you start working as a dancer, better to be safe than sorry.

You don't really need to have rhythm either, just move slowly and do a couple sexy poses, roll around on the floor a bit if you want, flirt with the people watching you, look like you're having the time of your life etc and you'll be grand.

Just smile a LOT and work the "I'm a naive newb!" angle. Guys will be so in love with your awkward newbiness. You can be dorky and move imperfectly and still make money, as long as you have an engaging personality and make it clear that you aren't taking yourself super seriously.

I really only use the pole as a stabilizer / prop while I'm on stage - I grab onto it a lot but rarely do tricks. So experiment with what you can do with the pole without aggravating your shoulder (or just use your other arm). If you don't have a pole and want to practice, most playgrounds have 'firemen's poles' that you can scope out around dusk...if no one is around to watch, practice!

Definitely do some research on here to find a club that might be a good fit...I've heard So Cal can be rough, especially for new dancers. But there's a perfect club out there for everyone - you just have to find it.

Also remember that everyone prefers different niches of this industry more so than others. You may find that camming is truly where you're meant to be, or you may find that you highly prefer dancing. Just try to have fun with it!

I've spent my whole life failing at any sort of rhythm or dancing. When I decided to become a dancer, I learned a bunch of basic moves to get through my stage set, but I knew I still looked stiff. After just a few shifts, I felt myself relaxing into different moves and now I actually have rhythm (again, something no dance class has ever been able to do). Just get started, smile a lot to look confident, and fake it til you make it.
The whole world steps aside for the one who knows where she's going.
