    Default Trying not to stress

I have a very serious mental illness. I've been on SSDI for almost 3 years and received a letter that next month I'm cut off. I'm most concerned about my Medicare being cut off. I know I can go back to camming as a last resort but I was thinking that I have 2 trades to fall back on. My mind is going a million different directions. I do know most companies aren't going to hire me because I haven't worked in 3 years. What would you do?

I don't know the details of your condition but I know worrying too much won't get you anywhere. I am a huge believer in energy and you're giving off negative vibes in this job hunt.

    What I would do-

Find other ways to cope with this illness- I am a believer in healthy lifestyle= healthy mental health...it's not a cure but it def helps. i have anxiety and when I work out hard, eat clean, i am on cloud 9. So get physical if that's your thing and clean up your diet. Processed foods and sugar effects mental health. It takes time but it works. Also, I would look into supplements such as St Johns Wort, B12, 5HTP etc...

Web cam while you look for a job. You don't have to over work yourself, take what you can. For example...when I'm having it rough, I completely give up on stressing about it and just chill on web cam- whatever happens happens ..it always turns out good when you don't have expectations. I like MFC for times like this because you can just sit there and talk without performing, you can hustle without performing- hey you can even vent...customers on MFC love drama and white knighting...maybe start a GoFundMe? Just remember while on cam, do not look at the clock, do no stress that you haven't been tipped in 30 min because it will come.

Get any job that you can- even if it's at Taco Bell, it looks good on paper. Work there while you seek another job.

    Be patient, don't give up.

I know it's easier said than done but you have to give it something

Exercise helps me keep my anxiety down the most. I find an hour of cardio a day to be really helpful.

Don't automatically assume they won't hire you, yes it's tough out there though..I said I took care of a an ill relative for several yrs., or you can say you freelanced some type of thing..I also did Ebay selling & some organizing for people.
I'm so sorry to hear of that, that's terrible.
I'm going to think more about this, when I come up w/more stuff I'll repost. Good luck.

Would it be possible to go back to a vanilla company you've previously worked for? That's what I'm currently doing. Over the last 6yrs or so, I have had only a few very short periods of resumé-appropriate employments over long-ass gaps where I was only dancing or dancing+school. By few & short, I mean two total, both 3-6mo tops But my present job is a company in my adopted hometown that I have worked off&on for over 10yrs, last time working for them was 6yrs ago yet I had less than a wk between applying for & starting the job. It's nothing grand but it's steady & pays the bills.
