    Default Dancer permits

I didn't find the answer elsewhere, but do dancer permits or cards ever expire or 'fall off' your record?

    ???

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you but I'll give it a whirl. From my understanding, even if they expire, the adult business license / permits you apply for will always be linked to your legal name - that is unless you change your identity but that seems costly and like a lot of trouble to go through.

Also, if you are looking to 'undo' past adult work - send me a PM I can point you to some helpful resources. I would post here but I'm not sure if I can post in public.

I take it you're worried about it being in a background check?
I don't know about other states but I have had 3 years of Phx licenses and 3 years of Scottsdale licenses, and none of them have been a problem. I got the highest level of background clearance needed in AZ last month (to work in hospitals, with kids, mentally ill, etc.) and then passed another check to work for an elementary school.

The clerk at the permit desk told me they are completely invisible except if police went to court and asked the judge, who would then have to order them opened. He said that only happens if you get caught up in some kind of dancing-related criminal case... so don't do extras or sell drugs in the club, and stay away from clubs that are heavy on extras.

Yes. This is exactly the answer to my question. . Not sure if it's the same in Nashville. I'll have to talk to the clerk tomorrow!

^^^ it's curious how the concerns have changed in the 10+ years since some of those threads are posted.

At the time the linked threads began, dancers licenses were the main source of a 'paper trail' which could officially connect a girl and her exotic dancing activities. However, as the predominance of clubs issuing 1099-misc reports of payments made to dancers has increased, today it is far more likely that a state professional licensing agency or 'professional' employer will turn up the existence of a 1099-misc income report which links a particular girl to an adult business activity as a result of an IRS records search.

Where decisions about obtaining a college degree and a 'professional' job are concerned, what was important 10 years ago ( dancer's license public records ), and what is important today ( 1099-misc IRS tax records ), may wind up being of secondary concern versus what will be important tomorrow. For a possible example, 4-5 years from now will a prospective 'professional' employer snap a pic of a 'professional' job applicant at the beginning of an interview, and before the interview is over will the interviewer's printer start spewing out an internet pic found via facial recognition search ... a pic of the applicant 'working over' a bachelor on a strip club stage which was shot and posted to the internet by a strip club customer ?

I was just thinking about this facial recognition thing. Everyone has an embarrassing or unprofessional photo of them somewhere on the Internet, they may or may not know about it. So employers running an employee's face would disqualify pretty much every body...

This is probably a dumb question but do you need a permit if you work at any type of strip club (bikini, topless, nude)?

Your location says Los Angeles and no, I haven't encountered any clubs that require a license or permit there. They do require a license in San Diego and a sheriffs card in Anaheim though. It usually depends on the area not the type of club.
