Default Streamate Audio issue while streaming

    Hi ladies!

For the past couple of weeks I have been experiencing a problem while streaming on SM. Guys have been coming into my room saying that my mic is low and they can't hear me very well. This observation is noted consistently by regulars and other members alike, so I know it's an issue on my end, not theirs. I speak loudly and clearly, and my volume is raised all the way up on the HD encoder. I use a Logitech C920 and normally the mic on this cam seems to pick up EVERYTHING, so I'm exasperated and confused. This issue has been negatively impacting my income for the past 2 weeks.

(I did message SM support, but received a very unhelpful response regarding the audio icon showing up, which is definitely NOT what I inquired about.)

Any advice or tips you ladies can offer would be profoundly appreciated (or if there happens to be a thread on this topic that you could point me to, that would also be great- I searched but couldn't find a specific one). Thank you so much, ladies.

This is the only way I know how to handle audio issues on these cam sites, they all seem to use the same system.

If your not using manycam then you need to isolate your microphone from encorder and use the flash broadcaster on the site. going HD high or HD low is the same as using the encorder.

Your mic connecting to manycam has nothing to do with if it will work perfect or not, its just based on your cam site or adobe encorder getting the mic from a direct source to use it.

-inside manycam there are microphone settings you want to disable.
    - if your using adobe encoder you want to make sure it is getting the direct source of your microphone.
    - if your using the website to broadcast you want to right click and click on the microphone and click on the settings for it so its the direct source.

Making sure your microphone is a direct source helps ensure a clear audio sound, but it will not ensure you have it 100% of the time, sometimes your internet speed will hiccup and your microphone might chipout basically your internet sending a signal to the cam site or skype you are working with.

but it will give you a better chance of having good audio.

Hi Minnie! Thank you so much for your reply!

I do not use Manycam as I broadcast only on SM. I apologize, I am a little confused by your reply- I have come quite a ways in my camming tech abilities but I am still far behind you and so many of the brilliantly tech savvy girls on here- so can you tell me what you mean by isolate the microphone from the encoder? Unfortunately I don't think I can broadcast w/o the HD encoder as my placement drops drastically if I don't use it.

My microphone is listed in the encoder settings as the C920 Mic- is this not how it's supposed to be? How can I ensure that the encoder recognizes it as the direct source?

    Thanks again

I do not use the encorder I use the HD high or HD low setting in the web browser (flash broadcaster) my placement stays fine , You actually do not need encorder to keep your placement is what I have discovered in the last month.

isolating your microphone meaning not using the encorder to broadcast, so you would go to streamate models, click on start my show and use the settings on the web browser. you right click for the settings menu and settle your microphone and settle HD high or low. you will still appear as broadcasting in HD and you can still do gold shows.

Have you tested it by selecting your inbuilt microphone instead of the c920 mic? Could be a faulty c920. Or, does your mic work fine on other sites? You can use "Sound recorder" on Windows to record yourself then play it back.

I was having the same issue last Friday. I use the Encoder with my Logitech 9000. Although, only 2 customers said they couldn't hear me but everyone else could. I even had a 15 min block that went great.... sound and all.

But this post gives me some ideas in case it happens again.

Plus we have no way of knowing who is using a mobile or a computer when they come into our rooms. on cams.com i know who is using mobile so then i can gauge who might have tech issues, then if they are using a computer they might not have speakers again something we have no idea about.

So all you can do is make sure you set up your audio properly on your end, and if you have another computer test it out on your side.

I have a 2 other laptops and a mobile so I can log on and see what my feed looks like and if i have audio going, as long as my computer is not to close to my microphone the audio will give me a good idea and then when you do visit your cam room there is a feature on there where you can adjust the volume if someone comes in your room and its turned down you can't control that.

Also it helps if your using a microphone that is not your built in webcam to determine if your are really having audio issues.
