    Default changes after dancing

    Hi ladies,

Its been a super long time since I've been on here.I haven't danced in almost 2 years and I kinda miss it. I look in the mirror sometimes and my god I feel like I've fallen off.Dancing kept me fit, it kept my hair & nails flawless and I created alot of lasting bonds with some really great women.

I work a great vanilla job now but dancing always gave me a liberating feeling and the money was great. For some reason I don't take care for myself the same way I did then.I've lost the confidence and out going attitude i used to have and I want all that back.

Is this a normal post dancing feeling?

I can relate. I stopped dancing for a while and don't go to the club as frequently as I used to.

When I stopped dancing I became a little more relaxed on different stuff, like I wouldn't shave nearly as often and I'd become like chewbacca lol. Also gave less of a darn of what I'd eat, so I'd definitely have a couple of beers after I got home from vanilla job after a stressful day. Would let my roots grow in and didn't do my hair as much because being attractive looking is not necessary for my job. Probably gained 5-10 pounds in this time which is a lot for my frame.

I feel like I've been reclaiming it though, been watching what I eat for the last couple of months, got a gym membership and have been running, keeping more on top of my hair. But that's because I've been wanting to dance part time again, I keep toying with the idea and I've only done it once since I almost never have the time these days.

But it's mainly getting back into the habit of maintenance is what's doing it for me. It's easy to fall off your dancing maintenance when you have a vanilla job and don't worry about having to look attractive 24/7. It's like when you go to the gym, stop for a while, then you have to go back into the habit of going again, and time consuming too.

I've been retired from dancing for two years as well. I gained some weight (not more than 5lbs) because my current job makes it difficult to stick to a gym routine but other than that, I avidly keep up on my hair, nails, skin, tan, etc. It makes me feel confident and beautiful even if I have no one to impress.

If you want it bad enough, why not go back to your old maintenance routine?

This is pretty normal. I saw this photo of me from a few years ago with my tan and bright blonde stripper hair . I need a little maintence for sure currently.

This is normal, I have taken 7 months off dancing so far and I won't be returning for at least another 2-3 months. I am taking an extended break after 7 years of dancing, I want to try life with a normal job and get back into my study. I have gained about 8 kilos I think and I feel huge. This is mostly from a lot of socialising all the time, catching up with friends for endless lunches and dinners, and I no longer have the pressure of needing to look sexy in the strip club several nights a week. Working many nights a week burns lots of calories and kept me fit. Also in my dancing lifestyle I would I would sleep in very late every day, not waking up until 2-3pm in the afternoon, therefore my first meal would be quite late in the day, and I was just eating a lot less overall.
My current look is so much more natural, I barely recognise myself in the mirror. I used to always have a dark spray tan, fake eyelashes on and very long thick hair extensions to complete my stripper look. These days I'm looking a lot younger in the face after gaining weight, I have fair skin and have medium length brown hair. I look like just like a regular girl. It's weird, but for my lifestyle at the moment I'm okay with this look. I think the key is self acceptance. I have always struggled accepting how I look, even when I was at my tiniest and unhealthiest weight, I still wanted to be smaller.
