    Default Weight loss/Toning up tips

    Hey girls,

So I've been thinking about becoming a stripper for ages, but my body just isn't in great shape at the moment.
Im working out 3 days a week, using the treadmill on an incline for around 30 minutes then doing some leg exercises. Im also starting a Pole dancing course this coming monday, to help tone me up.

Do you have any tips to help speed up the weight loss?
Im not overweight but i have a bit of body fat id like to get rid of before September (hoping to apply for some clubs around then)

Btw I'm from Melbourne so if you know of any clubs that are lenient with weight, let me know

    Thank you all xxx

weights/lifting are SO important for weight loss and keeping it off. definitely add a ton of that into your cardio.
i've found a diet low in refined carbs, no refined white sugars ( i just sweeten things with raw honey), but high in protein, and GOOD fats ( like avocado, nuts, seeds, fish, etc) has really helped me. i try and eat as raw and organic as i possibly can and my skin is not only amazing but i'm also losing a bit of weight that i haven't been able to shed for almost 2 years now.

No alcohol!!!!!!!!!!!! Underline, italicized and BOLDED.

Don't start drinking on the job if your club serves it either.

Eat lots of natural, unprocessed foods, walk and or run at least 30 minutes every day.

Drink at least a gallon (3 litres) of water per day. It might seem like a lot, but studies have shown it to be the most beneficial amount for your body and you get used to it and any less will seem like not enough.

It depends on your body type, diet, age and goals. I'm a half Mexican endomorph who just hit 30. I'm only 5' so at my worst I look like a little round beach ball at 150 llbs, a crackhead at 102 llbs and a mediocre Elizabeth Taylor at 126. (Body wise anyways)

I work out 5-6x a week for an hour. I try to make at least 1 full hour of cardio per week, 30 mins otherwise.
I am on an 85/15 Paleo diet, sometimes 90/10 if I feel fat. (Which is like always)
Best advice I can give you is you reap what you sow. You put in 3 day's worth of work, you'll see the results. Increase your workout if you want more. Also DO NOT SKIP MEALS! Starvation never lasts.

^ Haha, thought I might find you here Tempest

I'm Paleo too! but I follow the Primal Blueprint method of exercise. This my bodpic removed) There is a teeny amnt airbrushing but its 98% accurate. I haven't actually worked out in over 6months and even before that it was only 2months working out following another 6 months of not working out (confusing sentence sorry).

My point is, I agree about Paleo being a foundational part of how I got fit (and def no drinking on the job- and absolute minimum IRL if at all).

It has been my experience its 80% What you eat 20% exercise = TRUTH.

I'm a Melbourne dancer; Bearing in mind that clubs rosters are very full this year (its unprecedented) Try Dreams, Opium, Goldfingers. If you are confident you can try Mens Gallery, Centrefold, Spearmint R's. (I'm going to suggest you go to club chat and have a look at what is written about all the clubs because I have contributed thoroughly about Aussie clubs and I would be repeating myself, also use the search function).
    s
Honestly, the clubs are really full but if desperate, try Club Shoop Dandenong or Kittens. Also, Shamianas restaurant for lingerie and nude waitressing or even try as a bartender/coatgirl/waitress at any of the SC while you get your body in shape- I would recommend you post a pic or some stats on weight/height/measurements: You may be over-thinking it and we can reassure you.

There are also multiple threads about disguising body parts while working so please, SEARCH function x

I think I'm quite healthy. I work in a Bar atm in Melbourne CBD so I'm turned off alcohol and barely would drink prior to working in a bar. I currently go to the gym 3 days a week + 1 hour pole dancing class a week. I haven't noticed a difference other than my legs feel a lot stronger.
I took this photo just before, i know I'm not "thin" but i don't think I'm overweight, i just have some fat to lose. You can all be honest with me, constructive criticism.
I spoke to a girl at Centrefold she said they have hired girls up to size 12 and she thinks my body is alright. But then again she could just be lying hahaha.

Please tell me your thoughts on my body atm. Not perfect but hopefully with 2-3 months of working out ill be ready to apply.

Keep in mind that numbers on the scale are also sm what subjective. When I danced full time I held solid at 118lbs/5'5. My diet was very poor (both quality & quantity, barely getting enough calories & doing buttloads of pole work 4-6xwk. My best dancer friend is abt 5'3/5'4 & 135, but solid muscle & very slim athletic build so a muscular 135lbs looks good on her.

I am also athletic in build & have generally done well w/ high-carb/high-protein diet, + lots of fruit & avg 6L of water/shift, often more.

Weight lifting is going to do more for you than cardio machines ever can. Grab some dumbbells, do some lunges, squats, deadlifts, etc. Increase the weight you use as you get stronger.

Cardio's great and all, but increasing the amount of muscle mass your body has will make you burn more calories at rest, appear leaner and tighter, and will make pole tricks easier as you learn them since you will already have the strength to move your body around.

Lots of good points here. Also piggybacking on what simone87 said I think fastest way to tone up is with change in diet, muscle building (this helps burn fat), sprinting (also helps burn fat even up to 24 hours after your workout), working out with a team or trainer vs by yourself, educating yourself on proper nutrition, and keeping a positive mindset.

Also find some type of cardio exercise you enjoy (like skating, jogging, swimming, hiking, skiing, etc) so there is no excuse not to get moving.

Get some type of device, like Apple watch, that tracks your exercise. Keeping track helps you get a clear picture of what you are doing (or not doing) and stay motivated and on track.

Mindset is so important. I take pics of my body and that's the only way I can "see" myself. I just can't picture myself obese so when I slack on diet and exercise something internally kicks in to remind me to get back into shape.

You will get hired I think. Some toning up of the belly; with all the weights etc don't forget to add in a rehab and posture style exercise like pilates or yoga, even swimming- I'm not kidding when I say dancing is tough on the body- its tough. You have lovely skin.

Please go to the newbie section and start reading up (and I mean hours of reading) If something makes you curious then read up on it. There are several threads at the rop of the Newbie page that are called stickies; particularly read those. Read about "Am I too small/flat etc to dance", "Newbies and those who help them".
    .
Read about dancer outfits to disguise shapes. Waspies are good to hide midsections for example and don't need to come off during dance- When I had lots of bruises on my legs I wore Boots and thigh high stockings; I learned all this by reading SW.

Pintrest is great for makeup, but again, reading old SW posts is the best resource.

My other suggestion is to open a Blank word document and copy paste info which helps you to refer back to at another time- its invaluable. Be organised and treat this as a professional business and you will see the return.

Don't undercut or be a dirty dancer either- if you can't hack it as a clean dancer then seriously, don't do it. As I said, waitressing etc- they make very good money and often more than newer dancers- its a great way of learning about the job, the scene and the men without the risk factor. Plus, most clubs hire girls who they know may end up dancing so they wont likely be cross if you say you want to dance down the track. Its an option.

OP looks great. (Hell wish I had a thigh gap)
Unfortunately as Charlie once pointed out, you can't spot train. If you want fat from one place to go, you have to bring all of your body fat % down.

Go on Amazon and get an electric body fat percentage machine (the one you hold) best way to track progress by far. But body fat percentage looks different on everyone. I'm 19% body fat and when I look up pics of girls with 19% body fat their stomachs are so much leaner so everyone carries fat differently ugh lol wish it could go to my ass

I've been on Weight Watchers for two and a half weeks and I've already lost 9 pounds. I'm already a workout fanatic. But I haven't been working out like crazy since I started WW's. Walking six days a week. A yoga class once a week and a workout DVD once a week.
