    Default Eye Makeup

I do a smoky eye kind of thing for my videos. I am naturally darker under my eyes so I use white eyeshadow under my eyes to lighten them up. I don't know if it's my mascara or maybe eyeliner, but I have to occasionally wipe/ dab under my eyes to get rid of the black and re-blend the white. Any tips to keep this from happening?

You mean the mascara? There's a product, it's a waterproofing clear 'top coat'..NYX has one, so does Anastasia. Haven't tried it yet.
This is supposed to be easier on your eyes than using hard to remove waterproof mascara. I've also tried putting waterproof mascara on top of regular, w/no good results.
I have very dark circles from hereditary, I use a yellow stick, then concealer.
I just think eye makeup smudges, period.

With eyeliner, I had to use the trick of dabbing hair spray on top of it after it set so that it doesn't budge when on cam but will come off easily with oil cleansing. I just spray a bit on the back of my hand, dip a liner brush it in and then run it on top the liner I've put on.

Whirl, I'll have to try that NYX topcoat for mascara as my current waterproof can be hard to remove even with oil cleansing!

Rae! Luv ur avatar! Hon, I honestly wouldn't use hair spray near the eye! There's also a product (I believe NYX has it too) to waterproof other eye makeup or face makeup..
One thing I do, I like pencils for lining, & they tend to smudge..I take a thin brush & dip into similar eyeshadow color to your liner color then apply that on top of your original line. You could try a light dusting of face powder, just be careful near eyes.
Op, also Idk how good they work, but eye makeup base? Wouldn't work for lashes, but for shadows/liner. I hear good thing about Urban Decay base.

I've tried NYX setting spray and using black eyeshadow over black liner and I always use eye primer, but the oiliness of my face eats through everything but the hairspray unfortunately. I'd love to switch to something that can be used around my eyes more easily if I can find it

Have you tried setting pencil eyeliner w/ liquid eyeliner instead? Agree that primer is important as well, but this is what always worked for me ITC. My favourite brands are Almay(liquid & pencil both) & also ScandalEyes waterproof Kohl liner.

How bout the Anastasia brand? I've heard great things about it..I know, my skin's dry, but lots of oiliness around the eyes.

I actually currently use hairspray on the rest of my makeup. I was always too scared to put it near the eyes so I'll have to try this and see if it works.

    Do you mean primer?

This could be an easy, quick switch if the hairspray doesn't work When I was younger (like 15 years ago) I used to take the tip of my pencil and put it into the flame from my lighter for a few seconds. Kinda my ghetto liquid liner before it was use widely on the market. It stayed in place and was near impossible to get off lol.

I don't think anyone in my area does it. Even if they did, I'd be too much of a chicken shit to do eyeliner.

    Thanks for the suggestions ladies!

^ I did lip tattooing once- couldn't bear to go back for the finishing touch ups (and I had prepaid $$$$)- my lips looked fantastic all swollen and bee stung but it hurt so fucking much!

I have smudging problems too and I find that using black/brown eyeshadow instead of eyeliner prevents smudging (a make up artist told me to do this years ago and I rarely use eyeliner now).

Henna eyeliner is the bomb. I use it when I want a more glamorous cat eye and that shit don't smudge or budge even if you are taking a shower with it on.
