You're not going to get hired or rejected based on the outfit that you wearing when you walk in to the club, so don't over think it. There's also no outfit that will guarantee you get hired, because again, it's not what you're being hired for. Wear something that shows off your figure but wouldn't get you confused as a dancer on the clock. A dress, a skirt, jeans, wedges -- it doesn't matter as long as they're flattering.

Whatever heels you have are fine for your audition too. Same with outfit. Again, you aren't being judged on what you have in your stripper wardrobe. Most newbies start out in regular heels and outfits and then slowly amass a stripper wardrobe as they earn money.

As for your fear of going into clubs, I don't really know what to tell you, girl. Why do you want a job where you're afraid of the workplace? Maybe give day shifts a shot at first. You'll find less dudes hanging around outside and far less drunkenness/drug use than at night. That could help you get comfortable in the environment and get to know your security and support staff so you feel safer.

yes i know day shift is what I'm going for but in my area theres still a lot of pervs hanging out outside of the club during the day lol its in a area with a lot of crackheads and prositution thats probably why I'm scared to walk in I've only been in one club to apply but i was with my boyfriend and he made me go in i was about to chicken out again but he went in with me and they never called me back i think its cause i came off as shy and fearful and had him with me i wanna be a stripper because I'm bored with my retail job it barely pays anything I'm always broke and i need to move out ASAP even though strip clubs scare me i feel like thats my only option to make fast money and also the stripping world intrigues me so much

Look, if you're scared to even walk into the club, that means either you shouldn't work at that club, or you shouldn't work in the industry period. Clubs full of crackheads and prostitutes are obviously not good working environments. As for pervs, I mean, they're kind of present in all clubs. They're sort of the reason that clubs exist and make money. Most of them are pretty harmless, at least if you're able to assert yourself and have bouncers around, but if you can't stand to be around a pervy man, this really isn't the job for you.

And really, if EVERY club in your area scares you that much, well, I mean, maybe it's best to find another way to make money. Lots of call centres pay decently, same with Costco if there's one near you. Your retail experience will certainly help in both cases. You could also try camming, though I'm guessing you live with your folks if you're focusing on moving out. You could serve or be a shooter girl or door girl at a regular club too. There's generally good money in that.

Seriously OP -- why the obsession w/ stripping?

I recommend to all new girls to go scout potential clubs as a customer, but in your case I esp recommend it. From your posts it sounds like you've truly internalised all of the negative aspects/stereotypes abt this job -- OMGOMGOMFG I'm gonna get RAPED & God knows what else … making $$$ simply via stage dancing then hiding in the back between stage sets … You're putting the cart b4 the horse here, getting worked up abt auditioning when just the thought of entering a club has you ready to piss yourself.

Search 'audition outfit' on this site, everything abt auditioning has been discussed repeatedly. Clothes, stage tips, all of it. Re: shoes -- sm areas have laws regarding heel hgt. Go to your prospective club as a customer, tip a dancer well to sit & answer your questions abt dancing & dancing at that particular club. This includes any dress code rules.

Also run a search on 'working sober' as I think you are going to need all the info you can find on that if you're insisting on doing this job.

Why not just try camming? I'm nervous too but you're legit paranoid.

Byewig, You have already had multiple responses to this question in the other thread you posted and haven't responded and continued the conversation over there (as of the time I'm writing this anyway). Its a bit 'trolley' behaviour.

We also directed you to the newbies forum where you can get answers on 'What to wear to Audition' thread along with my suggestion to look at the 'preserve your emotional wellbeing'.

If anyone reads this and thinks I'm not being supportive enough I suggest you read the posts made in the other Byewig thread before you make up your mind.

Men are creepy in AND out of the club so you may as well benefit ( in my opinion ).
But really ... Don't make yourself do something you are not ok with.

I'm closing this thread - it seems to have run its course. We certainly have enough of these threads on SW.
