Default PS only does Restylane for lips

I haven't gone in for a consultation yet, but the receptionist said they only do Restylane Silk for lips. He's an in-demand surgeon in this area, and the receptionist said he chooses Restylane because he considers it to be a more natural look. I was originally planning on Juvederm because I read that it was a thicker product that would last longer. Any opinions?

I get restylane in my lips because I feel like it lasts longer(started off doing juvederm). I've heard people say it's lumpy, it apparently has a different texture from juvederm but I think it's a doctor's technique that results in lumpiness. If he's popular for doing good work I'd go with whatever he wanted to use.

I had Restylane done in my nasiolabal folds and I had tiny bumps that I hated for at least six months. I also had these weird bumps in the area for months after. And the Restylane looked very unnatural and obvious. I never had any of these issues with Juvederm. Ive had Juvederm in my lips three times. But Genveve might have a point that it could be the doctor.

I did Restylane once. Never again. I had a huge lump that felt like a cold sore.

^^If a doctor gives you a lump you can get hyaluronidase injected to eat it up, you don't have to walk around like that waiting for it to go away.

I have been reading more, and some sites say that if you bruise easily, you should do Juvederm over Restylane. Genoveve, did you have much bruising, or do you typically not bruise easily to start with?

I'm pretty fair and bruise like a motherfucker. That PS didn't have any openings for over a month, so I think I am going to do a rhino consult with him and do fillers elsewhere, possibly at a nearby dermatology office. There are some Groupons near me for Botox and Juvederm, and it would cost the same as one Juvederm syringe, but the Yelp reviews of the facility made me nope out of there real quick

^^I think it's just different person-to-person. I think everyone gets tiny bruises on the injection spots here and there, but no matter what kind of filler I get I'm always back to normal as soon as the numbing wears off(well some soreness is to be expected). However I always go and get my filler with the same friend and even though we get the same exact thing done by the same doctor, she will have issues. Hers tend to swell up significantly and she feels a bad burning sensation sometimes, one time her entire upper lip swelled up like Homer Simpson and that is not an exaggeration. (Btw that happened the one time that SHE chose the doctor, not me!!!!) That was also her first time doing restylane in her lips so she thought it was a reaction to it, but the guy we started going to next told her that it wasn't and he gave it to her again and she did not turn into Homer.

Try looking on Instragram and Yelp for after photos of the places you're interested in going to, a lot of times you can find them.

Update! I just remember that I had Restylane lately and I had a good experience. I think it's better than it was years ago.
