I think it really depends on where you're going. Based on your description of yourself, some clubs would definitely hire you, and some clubs would not. Visit some clubs in the area you'd consider applying to and look around. See if anyone has your body type. My understanding is that urban clubs will be your best bet wherever you go, especially if you can dance.
The worst thing that can happen is they'll look at you and say no. If you get hired, you'll get some haters--there are ALWAYS haters--but you'll get guys who are totally into your body type as well.

Should you bother? Absolutely. You won't know unless you try. The worse that could happen is that they just say no. Just make sure you go looking your best and be confident, even if you have to fake it.

Again, nobody can say what your chances are. If it is a high end club, odds are not in your favor. High end clubs are high end for a reason. They want top shelf dancers.
I was once overweight and I can tell you that it was not easy to get hired. I made money once I was hired but it was not easy.
My advice to you is to try camming and lose weight in the meantime. Hell, you may discover that you don't want to strip and you enjoy camming more.
Or try a dive in your area. Dives are good for getting your feet wet.
If you want to lose weight start with at least an hour of cardio 4x a week plus get on a high protein low carb diet like the Paleo.

Lots of clubs require girls to be 21 years old. Cant have people working in a club who are not of drinking age.

Thanks for the advice. It's nice to hear.

Well congrats on your progress so far! 70 llbs is no small feat!
Different bodies react differently to lifestyle changes. I used to do a lot of elliptical and stair climber at my gym. The stationary bikes are also great for your legs.
The argument of dancing being cardio has been hashed out so much but I'll give my opinion: if you are doing a lot of vigorous activity combined with clean eating and little to no alcohol, odds are you may lose weight. The problem that I've seen is so many dancers order crap takeout and guzzle booze like sailors on shore leave.
I won't give you false hope and say "You'll lose weight just by dancing" because you won't. There's other factors at play here. The Delusional Positivity Fairy does not reside here. (I coined that term a few weeks ago in response to a thread about the longevity of this industry )
Anyways, try to focus on eating veggies with a high protein content like kale. Also are you 100% vegan or do you do the little cheat day with fish? I'm mostly pescetarian myself and I have found the benefits to be awesome.
Quinoa is another great source of protein.
Good luck and congrats on all your hard work!![]()

Maybe you could mention the clubs you were thinking along with a body shot to give others an idea. I has a roommate who was your height and weight and she made a killing, but her weight was in her hips and butt. I will say though that if you have a big belly it'll probably mean no hiring at most clubs. There was a time I had a belly and it prevented me from getting hired at most clubs so I lost it (and it wasn't even big).

Dancing can very well help you lose wgt, if you're a more 'physical' kind of dancer i.e. lots of pole work as opposed to just a slow, sensual posing style. Keep in mind as well, that muscle weighs more than fat, so while your wgt would initially drop, sm of it can also come back as muscle if you maintain a clean diet & appropriate lvl of physical activity.
As an athlete, I always did well w/ high-protein+high-carb diet + 4L or more water a day. While dancing or doing other jobs that were outside working hard in the heat, I would easily go thru 8L or more each shift. Also, break-up your meals throughout the day & have small healthy snacks like nuts or fruit in order to keep your blood sugar more stable & your metabolism going.
2-3 days of nothing but leek soup, water, & either cranberry or pomegranate juice is my go-to for a returning-to-dancing metabolism boost. THIS DOES NOT MEAN STARVING YOURSELF. There are variations of basic leek soup recipes that include sm more solid ingredients like potatoes or carrots. Carbs are important if you are going to be highly active, there's not really any way around that -- what matters is the amounts, what else you're eating alongside those carbs, & your fitness regimen.

If you can, invest in corsets or waist cinchers.
