Lightbulb "Loub job" fillers for your feet

Has anybody had a "Loub job" or heard of it? I saw it on TV last night and I want to try it! Aging and the constant use of heels can cause our natural padding to wear down, so dermal fillers can now be injected into the ball of the foot (it can also be done in the heel) to act as extra cushioning and to relieve the pain and pressure that comes with frequent high heel use . It's preformed (at least here in Oz) by podiatrists and lasts for approximately 6 months (similar to normal fillers).

Here's an article I found about the procedure:

Sounds super pricey! I spend a grand on my lips so this will probably be much more!

And being that it's on your feet and there's constant pressure on it I would imagine it to last even shorter

You know you're a stripper when... they show the 6" Louboutins and you're like, "well, they're platforms? nbd"

I feel like Becks is wearing the wrong shoe size though.

I don't think it's something I'd personally try, but I'm really curious to hear if anybody has.

^Lol. Yeah, I am curious to see if anyone has tried it too as I don't want to be a "guinea pig". So far, most of the info' I've come across is from the UK and in terms of cost-the program stated that it was $400 pounds per treatment and that the interviewee had it performed every few months (so, it's not "cheap" and I don't understand why anyone with chronic foot pain wouldn't just give up high heels if it was an option . But, it my be something that patients will eventually be able to claim on health insurance -idk).

I didn't even know it was a "thing" until recently-I've been on a "fix my feet mission" (without actually retiring, anyway) so it is definitely something I would try if it was more mainstream. It's interesting though, it could help various conditions and people like athletes, strippers and actual dancers (although it may effect how they "feel" the dance floor etc).

As for the amputation comment-it's a scary thought . But, realistically even very mainstream cosmetic procedures have associated risks-I mean, you can go blind from getting fillers in your forehead if the product is injected into a vein/artery .

For the price you pay for a pair of CL shoes, you would think the shoes would be not so uncomfortable. I have a few pairs and none of them are comfortable. They're not worth the extreme foot pain.
Hence why this article is pushing for feet fillers.

It blows my mind that you can dance in a $40 pair of pleasers all night but spend $400 on a pair of shoes and you can't walk in them without pain.

I basically never wear heels outside of work but I have a couple pairs of the more civilian looking pleasers for when heels are a must.

^^LOL every now and then I scour online stores for good-looking civilian pleasers because they are so comfy.

I heard a while ago of having feet botoxed to prevent heel-caused pain, I would think that that would be way more effective than filler especially because of what Crystalize said.

Ptttttt I don't even have arches in my feet. I can't even think about fillers or slipping into a pair of Louie Bs. Le sigh.

Buy cushions. Foot petals. Much cheaper and safer. Hell I'd never waste filler in my feet instead of my face but I'm 46. Now if there was something for my pinky toes that would be great because i can only work 2 days until my pinky toes have volcano looking things with blisters in the middle.

^ Nah Michelle, her feet aren't just sore (well, dancer sore) but genuinely messed up is structure somehow, she has to tape them etc- this is the same girl that worked on a fractured foot for months before getting a second opinion from a doctor so if she says it hurts then I believe it.

I seriously don't know what the solution is for you OJ; I think you should try it just to be sure either way and simultaneously continue with your rehab and yoga. Whats the condition called?

Maybe boots or something would be better than because if it a structural thing I'm not sure filler in the feet would be safe. it would mask the problem and maybe make it worse. Like cotisone shots.

That's true re. masking symptoms, although the podiatrist suggested it to her (from recollection).

She wouldn't be allowed to wear boots- its stilettos only.

How silly to inject so ething in your foot?under the body weight it would just squeez on side. After body have to desolve that crap and take it out with your lymph sistem.

Theres actually foot pads that are sold online to wear in heels. I personally wouldnt recommend injecting something in your body.

My biggest things for foot care...

-Yoga toes. I bought something like these and use them whenever I'm lazing around the house: http://www.amazon.com/Flex-Toe-Stret...7713427&sr=8-4
-Stretching. I do this kind of stuff in my yoga classes and at home (great to do while you're Netflixing it up): http://myfiveminuteyoga.com/1144/fiv...t-work-series/
-Variety of footwear. It's important to wear a variety of footwear to avoid shortening your tendons permanently. When I go on walks, I wear Vibrams to strengthen the muscles in my feet.
-Callous removal (occasional). Just feels healthy to me. I use this guy - it isn't cute, but it works: http://www.amazon.com/Microplane-Col...7713784&sr=8-3

I used to massage a podiatrist (I'm an LMT), and she told me that she mostly recommends heavily padded footwear to people with foot problems ONLY because she knows they don't have the motivation or dedication to truly take care of their feet. The best way to go is to transition to using shoes (for walking and / or running) that have minimal padding to strengthen the tiny muscles in your feet and legs and to stretch out the fascia covering every structure in your foot. It takes time to do this. If you try to go from wearing your standard shoes to wearing minimalist shoes, you can injure yourself, because your feet need time to adjust.

I know that's not what this thread is about, but since most of us spend some or a lot of time in high heels (whether for work or personal use), I thought I'd mention it!
