Hi
I danced almost two years ago for 6 months and I did pretty well (for Los Angeles). I quit eventually, but right now I'm thinking about going back. I would love to hear some input.
The reasons I quit:
It was tough to dance and have a vanilla office job where I had to start at 8am.
I had no social life.
I hated condescending customers who assumed I'm some dumb little whore even though I have a masters degree and a day job where I make more money than a lot of them do.
I do not like being touched by disgusting guys.
For you LA ladies: the club was in the valley and very cheap, blue collar, sometimes dive-y.
However, I'm thinking about starting again. I live in a very nice neighborhood, my rent eats up half my paycheck and I have car payments, I like to go out, buy clothes... The typical stuff. I'm not in debt and I don't NEED the money but it would be nice to have some extra and not live paycheck to paycheck.
I would not dance in the valley again. It would have to be a more upscale club. Do those even exist in LA? Touristy is fine too, as long as it's not smelly 60 year olds who don't speak English and constantly try to stick their fingers in my pussy while I'm on stage..
But could I get hired at one of the nicer clubs? And what about my social life? I just went through a tough break up and I'm in the process of making new friends. I'd have to work weekends so that would be hard.
Anyway. Has anyone ever been in a similar situation?
To dance or not to dance?
