    Default Sweaty Face

I stumbled onto wipes to use the night before to prevent face sweat after so much dancing at work. Has anyone tried this:
_____ was designed to be used for underarms but on doing a few Google searches, it seems that a large proportion of their customers use it to prevent excessive facial sweating too. I was a bit hesitant to use antiperspirant on my face because blocking sweat ducts sounds like a one-way ticket to blocked pores and spots. But like I said, desperate times!!

i would imagine they would irritate your face really bad, and possibly feel uncomfortable too. i have put deodorant on my face before and it didn't work well enough for me to keep doing it

Yea.^ I was going to say, things made for the body prob shouldn't be used on the face? Personally, I use & love Pacifica brand coconut cleansing wipes for the face, they seem to clean the best & still be gentle. Have you tried those powder sheets? Made for the face, oil-blotting, but you could first pat w/towel to get the sweat, then use them, if you don't want to disturb makeup
Pacifica also makes body lotion & other wipes.

I agree, first take a napkin, dab your face, then use oil blotting sheets. Also try setting your make up with Urban Decay's All Nighter setting spray. It's so good!

Ps- that Salma siggy you have there is droooooooooool.

I gotta try the All Nighter Spray. Our AC is iffy lately.

What about a light, absorbing powder? Not the pressed kind in the compact
I just saw your other post about the deodorant, if you do use that, they've the natural ones, I use Trader Joe's natural unscented w/cotton stick

I'm willing to try these wipes. I logged on just to start a thread about the Sweating Issue. Working, exercising, sleeping...it's just getting outrageous.

I use Tatcha's japanese blotting papers from Sephora to deal with my oily skin and it is a miracle worker! I cannot recommend it enough for anyone who sweats a lot or has oily skin. You can literally see all of the sweat and oil on the paper after using it, it really absorbs every last drop.

^Wow, those Tatcha ones are expensive(in the UK anyway), you only get 30 sheets. I recently got the Bobbi Brown blotting papers and paid less for 100 sheets, even they felt overpriced TBH. The Body Shop used to have them for a reasonable price but they were discontinued.

I have this issue too(excess sweating all over not just my face), and get very shiny around my forehead and nose.

I find the best thing is a light loose powder as I'm initially getting ready, then throughout the day/night blotting with the aforementioned papers. I've actually calmed down with the powder lately as I also hate looking too matte, it's ageing. So I allow a bit of shine to come through and just gently blot the problem areas.

I would love to find a solution for body sweating though. Using strong deodorant or even having areas botoxed isn't gonna cut it when my entire back and torso end up drenched.

I heard about magnesium, sage or charcoal tablets as possible natural solutions but haven't had the chance to test them out properly.

^To take orally or to apply on your skin? It is definitely absorbent. I need some heavy duty help though.

I bought some of those underarm shield pad things once and the box is still sitting in the cupboard, I tried them one time but they would really only help if you sweat lightly and wanted to ensure no patches appeared if you were at an event etc. Anything more than moderate sweating and I think it would just leak outside the pad and look even weirder.

Quick tip--use Urban Decay' setting spray BEFORE putting on your makeup. It makes your makeup stick like glue. I live in Florida where it's regular 95+ degrees with soup-like humidity. I spent the whole day outside today sweating like a pig, came inside, and my makeup--even my heavy eye makeup, hadn't budged a bit despite feeling like I had taken a gross shower.

I use blotting papers religiously + the setting spray. My face sweats like crazy I hate it. Another option, albeit hella expensive, is Botox. I had some spots on my forehead treated and it stopped sweating completely (the other parts of my face were the same though) -- I actually use Botox for my underarms specifically for sweating and it works really well -- it's just expensive as hell

Ok, today I just saw Shishedo brand, face blotters..they claim to absorb sweat & oil on face. 12.00, Idk how many you get in the pkg. They're a high end cosmetic/skin care co.

Update: The deodorant is just ok. It gets on my hands when I touch my face and is irritating if I mistakenly touch my eye. Back to the drawing board.

I got the charcoal tablets. Should I be swallowing them or taking them out of the caps to use?

Charcoal is what hospitals give people to stop food poisoning because it stops your body from absorbing whatever you ate(I keep some at home for food poisoning emergencies and it does work!), they say to not take it regularly because you don't want to regularly stop your body from absorbing what you ate and that it will cause digestive issues. I've never taken charcoal regularly so I have no actual experience but I really wouldn't recommend it.

Btw thanks for posting the Sweat Block because I'm a chronic sweater and ordered them and now they're all I use. I've never tried them on my face though because my face doesn't sweat. It doesn't irritate my body skin at all though.

^Yep, that's correct about charcoals absorbent qualities. I don't have much info apart from that, I just know it can be a detox aid. So in theory once the body gets rid of enough toxins, excess sweating should cease as the body isn't having to fight as hard to eliminate stuff.

I read that if you take supplements, vitamins etc. you should leave a couple of hours between taking them and the charcoal as the charcoal will absorb both unwanted and wanted substances, which leads me to lean towards Genoveves thinking...maybe it isn't too reliable, there's no way of knowing how much 'good' stuff is being soaked up'.

Optimist, maybe try the charcoal for a few weeks and see if there's a noticeable difference in the sweats. Drink extra fluids while taking it too.

The tablets I saw were not gel capsules but pressed tabs of charcoal, I would just swallow the caps whole with water.

I think that's the issue, that it will indiscriminately stop you from absorbing whatever you ingest whether it's healthy or unhealthy. I've seen people say the same thing you did about supplements on health food forums; like I've seen people who are really into nutrition say that on the rare occasion they have to eat a really unhealthy meal they'll take the charcoal so they won't get sick from it but they'll make sure to not take any vitamins or supplements within 6 hours taking the charcoal.
