    Default My first day dancing!

I went in yesterday for an audition.. I wasn't as nervous as I expected but the nerves were still there! I went up to the front asking the guy outside about an audition. We talked for a few minutes and then I went inside to see the hostess who gave me paperwork to fill out. I met managers who were very nice and detailed about the job. They were also very patient and personal with me. I went in to meet the house mom and she said that it was "dress day" So I had to rent a dress for $10 and then later she said I would have to buy one for $45 dollars. I did not have this money so she let me pay her throughout the night. I auditioned on one of the stages and I was fairly disappointing because the poles suck! I love pole dancing so I was let down lmfao. It was still fun! I am happy that I didn't look like an amature.. or at least thats what I am feeling haha..
The manager asked me if I could work a shift that same night, so I did. He showed me around and talked to me about all the rules. He even gave me advice about customers. The manager had one of the other dancers give me a lapdance which I thought was a little awkward having her boobs rubbed all over my face but I took note about all the rules. The lap dances are 25 and $5 goes to the club. table dances are $10 and you keep that. I worked from 3pm-11pm I had to tip out every one before 7 and everyone after 7 including dj,bar, security etc.. Manager would not take my money which was kind of nice. I missed the day time makeup lady because I did not even see her. I will get better! What they didn't tell me is that $2 is suppose to go to the dj after every lapdance I had no idea.. no wonder the day DJ seemed pissy. The night time one was probably mad as well until the manager explained this to me! I was so confused and had no idea about this. I don't mind tip outs. I just didn't expect to pay double for one 8 hour shift. I guess if I came in starting at 7pm I wouldn't have to tip out twice so I might start doing that.
In the end I made around 370 and walked away with around 250. I am pretty happy about it. I feel like I could have hustled better.. but considering that I was running on a smoothie and a boiled egg I think I did pretty good lol. Its not that I wasn't expecting to work I just forgot to eat!
I didn't bring any makeup with me to touch up and I didn't have any problems.. at times I did get a little hot. Next time I will bring water for sure! A brush and some face powder will come in handy.

Thanks for all your threads !

It sounds like you got off to a great start! However you may have taken my posts in your 'parking fees' thread, I am happy for you & wanted you to go for it & succeed -- that's why I said what I did.

It's pretty typical when working a swing shift as you did, to be expected to tip both the day- & nitetime support staff. At least it's been that way in every club I've worked.

Don't let the pissy attitudes of the djs worry you too much, you're brand-new & didn't know. If you feel a further need to smooth things over w/ them nxt time you work together, remind them of that fact & maybe throw in a small extra amt as a peace offering. Sm girls may disagree w/ me on that, but I believe in cultivating the best possible relationship w/ djs & security in particular. If an extra $10 'makes up' for a first-timer misunderstanding, it can make a huge difference later when you & the dj are on the same page w/ your music & he plays good sets that help you rake in the $$$$. Just don't let him get the idea you're a pushover. It's sm times a fine balance between tipping appropriately, overtipping appropriately & holding your ground bc he's being a buttmunch. You'll suss it all out as you progress.

UPDATE I misunderstood you only have to tip out night as well if you are staying after 11pm Making a few mistakes. But learning
