    Default The Nerd Thread!

    To begin...

Mark Hamill will return to his role as the Joker in the animated adaptation of one of the best-known Batman stories of all time, The Killing Joke. No word yet on whether Kevin Conroy will be back as Batman.

Speaking of Batman, I recently saw an earlier animated movie, Year One. The actor who voiced Batman here would later go on to play Jim Gordon on Gotham, while Gordon is voiced by none other than Bryan Cranston.

The movie contains what I believe to be the first instance of any version of the character dropping an F bomb:

This is trending on FB already, but...

How do you make a great show like Game of Thrones even better?

You cast Ian McShane in the upcoming season, that's how.

    The bad news?

Details on McShane’s role are being kept under wraps, but he will play a key role in the season’s plot with a small amount of screen time, reports EW.

Conan made such a big deal of his show earning a "TV-MA" rating for premiering the "Deadpool" trailer last night. Then they bleep out every instance of the word "fuck."

I love El Rey in general. Because of them, my daughter has to watch anything kung-fu/karate/ninja related. Thank you Flying Five Finger Thursday

Mark Hamill is at his best playing the Joker. I was very sorry he was not in Arkham Knight.

I haven't played Arkham Knight because I'm waiting for the PC issues with the game to be resolved. I thought I read somewhere that Mark Hamil was not the Joker voice in this game.

    This scene, right here:

Comparing some of the other actors to voice the character. I did not know Brent Spiner played him!

I saw "Assault on Arkham" and didn't even notice it wasn't Mark Hamill for a while. It was Troy Baker, the last actor in the clip.

You may be thinking of Arkham Origins, he wasn't in that one. He's the Joker in Arkham Knight. I won't spoil it for you as to how.

Got to meet a childhood hero today...

He's a fan-built, full-scale model- not actually one from the movies, but you wouldn't know the difference. Lights, sounds, rotating dome, and surprising speed. It was great watching the little kids react to him.

"American Gods" on Starz update! Of course, the big question is the casting of Shadow*. I suppose of the choices mentioned, I'd pick Joe Manganiello. He looks the most like the mental picture I had while reading. He was on "True Blood," which I never saw. Shadow needs to be a big guy. Especially in "Monarch of the Glen," Gaiman is constantly reminding the reader of Shadow's stature. I'd begun to wonder if this was some sort of hint.

Apparently there is no word on the second novel yet. Shouldn't that have come out by now?

ETA: * I swear I didn't do that on purpose
