    Default Korean Pop.

Unfortunately at the club I work at now, I can't use my flash drive to give to the DJ. But at the previous club I used to dance to a lot of Kpop. And some Jpop. For you Asian pop culture fans who want to dance to something that you actually listen to, I'd really suggest dancing to some of Jay Park's newer stuff. I was dancing to a song called "Mommae" and "Sex Trip" by him. Another one people liked a lot was some of CL's solo music. I danced to "Dirty Vibe", "MTBD" and "Baddest Female". CL was a pretty big hit in the club. Does anyone else dance to Kpop?

I had a separate list of songs that I gave my djs that was strictly 'by Aniela's request only'. On it was goofy shit like Weird Al & Jack Black when I was in a Fk All kinda mood. It also included a few songs that were in other languages & one of them was 'Without You' by 1Tym. Yes, a cheesy, 'wtf is this song doing being played in a SC?!' But it always went over well w/ Korean-speaking customers. That was the only Korean song I had on my list but I would be open to finding sm new ones. Thnx for the recommendations!

I'll have to actually listen to those. I don't listen to kpop, but I wouldn't mind hearing more club-like kpop since I like stuff like trance, house, electronica etc.

Wave Runner album by Capsule would work for sure! It's a little funky for the club but it still works because it's really westernized club music. Of course the singer has a robotic high pitched voice that Americans might find weird.

    Synthy / Club music
    2NE1 - I'm the Best
    FX - NU ABO
    Ji-min - Puss
Orange Caramel - Catallena << This one is actually v disco-y. Highly recommend the music video. Also interesting to note that the MV was banned from airing in Korea.
PSY - Gentleman I know everyone and their mom was all over Gangnam Style but his follow-up to that song is also vv fun

    K now I can't stop

Lim Chang Jung - 문을 여시오 (Open Your Heart) >> v trashy electro + bbongjjak sound. The best way to describe bbongjjack / trot (뽕짝 / 트로트) is like Japanese enka I guess? PSY's Gangnam Style also had the bbongjjak feel.
    4MINUTE - 미쳐 (Crazy)
4MINUTE - 이름이 뭐예요? (What's Your Name?) << Hyuna is amazing also this song was EVERYWHERE when it came out in Korea.
JYP - Honey << k this song is super old (came out when I was like 8 or 9) but it is super funky also JYP is the mastermind behind Wonder Girls, Miss A, 2PM, 2AM, etc
GD & TOP - High High >> bc no kpop list would be complete w/o G-Dragon duh

And here are some Kpop songs that you may not be able to dance to necessarily but are still really good and you should check it out:
Neon Bunny - 조금씩 다가와줘 (come a little closer) >> v recent w a dreamy/bedroom synth pop feel
Suzy - 바람바람바람 (Wind Wind Wind) >> updated classic Kpop song w a v mellow/bossanova feel
Shim Eun Kyung - 하얀나비 (White Butterfly) >>updated classic Kpop song. V pretty and sad.

Yea, as I mentioned CL was a big hit in the club. So 2ne1 is definitely probably one of the best groups to play. Even though it is still probably a little different to the Western audience. You gotta ease them into K-pop. Lol. Speaking of CL she just came out with a new single with Diplo that I might want to start dancing to.

I like CL's attitude. I read that she's going to be releasing a solo album in the US this fall.

Yes! I'm so excited about that. I can just see her being really popular in the US. She has that 'unf' that's just enough to turn on the American audience.

I can see her becoming popular in the US too. Shakira was a very popular singer in Latin America for many years before anyone in the US knew who she was. After she started recording in English, she became very popular here. Maybe the same thing will happen with CL.

    "Swimming Fool" - Seventeen
    "Blood Sweat Tears" - BTS
    "Confused" - AOA
    "Rock" - Seventeen
    "A" - Got7
    "Chained Up" - Vixx
    "Oh!" - Girls Generation
    "Airplane" - iKon
    "View" - Shinee

    "Bubble Pop" - Hyuna
"24" - Exo (I prefer the Mandarin Chinese version to the Korean one)

My club would probably never play any kpop, but I wish they would let me sneak in a kpop song every now and then. We get our fair share of korean patrons who already get a kick out of the little korean I can speak, I like to think they'd make it rain if I danced to something Korean lol.

Here are some songs I'd want to dance to:

    24 Hours//Sunmi
Most anything by 2NE1 (rip), especially Do You Love Me, Falling In Love, I Love You.... 2ne1 is all about dat luv
    Mamma Mia//Narsha
    Abracadabra//Brown Eyed Girls
    Wild//Nine Muses
    Sugar Free//T-ara
Also, it's not a kpop song, but "Freal Luv" by Far East Movement features Chanyeol from EXO (korean boy band) and he partially raps in Korean for his verse. Next time a group of koreans come in, I might suggest that song to the DJ.

    just to name a few.
