    Default Oil Shows and Rashes

So I don't normally do oil shows. Maybe once in a blue moon. But I did one Monday, used Johnson's Baby Magic oil. I really slathered it on my boobs, my thighs and butt. The show lasted 15 mins and when it was over I logged off and quickly jumped in the shower to get it all off. I scrubbed and rinsed and repeated. Got out and still felt some oil on my skin. Didn't think it'd be a problem.

This morning (Wedsnday) I woke up with an itchy rash in certain areas.....a huge itchy red rash under my boob and on both thighs. I am wondering if its from the baby oil, because I can't seem to pin point any new foods or new products I've used other than that.

Has anyone else ever had this experience?

I haven't ever experienced this so I have nothing to contribute in that regard, sorry. BUT you should switch to coconut oil! It is the best.

Yeah baby oil is made from petroleum. I would never use it on my own skin and it makes me shudder to think of having it near a baby.

Coconut oil is awesome, or olive oil if you want it super slick and shiny.

It happened to me a few years ago.I think it was the baby oil (johnson)because I couldnt find another explanation.Been on hydrocortisone cream and antihistamines for a couple weeks after. It was itching really bad.Coconut oil is the way to go now.

I have never had a rash from an oil show, but then again I've never used baby oil to do one. I use a blend olive oil and coconut oil. It sucks you have a rash , but try that instead next time.

I freaking love baby oil, never had a single rash from it. Use it everyday after my bath. After oil shows on cam, within 20 minutes my body soaks it all in. I do suggest using coconut or even olive oil on a test spot, like your wrist to see how you react.
Although, maybe it was all that scrubbing you did in the tub after the show. If you need to jump in the shower & do that much scrubbing then maybe oil shows in general are not your thing.

Coconut oil is probably a better choice later. It might even help your rash now. But just be careful and watch and make sure its not something else like a big bite or the soap you used to get it off you.

I would never use baby oil on my skin. It's liquid pertolium. Go read some on why it's bad for you, there's tons of information out there to read. I recommend using some coconut oil instead.

Putting what is leftover from gasoline refinement is not my idea of an oil I would want anywhere on my skin. Same goes for Vaseline. Just ew.

For oil shows, fractionated coconut oil is great if you think regular coconut oil is too thick, it doesn't leave greasy spots anywhere, absorbs quickly and there's no smell. You might also like apricot kernel oil. Olive oil is great too but I don't like the smell too much.

Was the oil scented? You could have had a reaction to the fragrance.

Or maybe the oil was just to heavy on your skin and clogged your pores.

Or maybe like Sam38g suggested when you scrubbed your skin to wash it off that may have been too rough.

If you try the baby oil again on a small spot of your skin and a rash occurs then you know for certain it was the baby oil. If not then it could have been some other factor in your environment.

Thanks for your feedback ladies. Love you girls! I got some prednisone from the dr. for the rash....hoping it clears up by Monday, it looks so bad and itches terribly. Luckily I got my period too, so I am just gonna be off cam until Monday.

I will look into getting coconut oil and olive oil as my options now. No more johnson's baby oil on my skin ever again.

I used the regular Johnson's baby oil with pink cap with no problems but that with purple cap, bedtime oil if I remember it right, gave me nasty rash (i'd even call it burns). So could be the perfume.
Olive oil has to be used carefully because it burns if it gets in your eyes.

Like two weeks for me but it should be faster for you if you got prednisone and it`s only a rash .If it`s still itching bad buy a Locoid cream ,it helped me a lot.I had prednisone for hives and that lasted one fucking month, after started to take that it was still spreading for a few days, guess it takes a while to get into your system.

Same thing happens to me but I have sensitive skin so in general I have to becareful what I put on my body normally as I'll rash out within minutes but I still do the shows because if I get it off fast enough I'm in the clear.

Mine lasted around 2 weeks, but I have idiopathic eczema that can be triggered by absolutely random things and lasts this long even if I'm not exposed to them anymore.

Shit! That long!!! I believe it, because this thing doesn't seem to be going away yet. To add insult to injury I missed a step and took a nasty fall and was in the ER today, sprained my ankle pretty bad. I also asked them if they could give me anything for my rash, since it doesn't seem to be clearing up and they gave me a bigger dose of prednisone. This is not my week ladies.

Yea this happened to me with lavender scented baby oil.. I think I even ended up with a yeast infection .. never touched it since... I only use coconut oil or olive oil now.. .. Olive oil isn't that great though.. not slippery enough.

Did the doctor tell you specifically what kind of rash you have and do you trust his diagnosis? (I see that it's still spreading in another thread) You can get rashes that are not from allergic reactions and if the prednisone isn't working maybe it's not an allergy rash. Not trying to psych you out or anything just brainstorming, non allergy rashes are fixable too.

Definitely the oil. I have this issue too! Doesn't matter what brand I'm using either. If it doesn't ALL come off...this happens. If any gets left on the folds of my lady bits...after a few days it will flake up... it's horrible. I have to be realllllly careful with this stuff! Took me forever to figure out oil was the culprit. Now I just make sure I get it ALL off in the shower and I have no issues.

Oh and a HUGE tip...Don't scratch!! That just spreads it makes it worse. Dermatitis sucks... but if I DO feel my skin about to act up, I just leave it alone. Helps a ton!!! Trust me.

Yeah, it had to be the oil, because I could still feel traces of it under my boob and in the crease of my thighs, I thought I'd just let my skin absorb it and that was that....but...then the rash happened in those exact areas. Never ever again will I do another oil show....ugh.
