Default Club too close to home?

So I'm trying to find a place to audition for the first time (eek!) and I've found a nice club. It's the next town over from where I live, maybe a 20 minute drive from my house.

What I want to know is, would working at this club be too dangerous? I live in a pretty rural area, and I think it would be hard for me to lose someone following me unless I drove in the wrong direction. If a stalker finds my house, there's no question that it's my house because it's the only one at the end of a long driveway way back in the woods. I live with my family and we lock the house, but it would be kind of difficult to explain to them why a strange man keeps coming around knocking on our door

There's also the issue of seeing someone I know, which I'm not actually that worried about. The club caters to a military base across the street, but there is always that risk that someone recognizes me.

    What do you all think?

I lived abt 20min from my club when I worked in Daytona. Every nite I would take a different route home. Sm times deliberately taking 30min or a bit more just to give myself a greater chance to catch any followers & lead them in the wrong direction.

Just be very observant from the moment you're stepping out of the club after work. Check round your tyres for any dmg, or potential dmg -- one BYOB club I worked at was notorious for having a parking lot full of beer/liquor bottles by the end of the nite, & the ppl leaving them typically don't care abt leaving them under your tyres. Also check your backseat b4 entering your car, esp if it is an older model that can be slimjimmed.

We all run the risk of being followed home by a stalker guy from the club. I think you are over worrying a tad bit over this. Take the advice from Aniela to double check everything to keep yourself safe and try to prevent this from happening.

And this ^^ is when you pull out a gun on that MF'er and tell him if he ever comes back on your private property that you won't hesitate to blow him right off that property. If you don't have a gun, get one if you're that worried about something like that happening. This is just what I would personally do and not hesitate for a second, not everyone is as pro this stuff as me but I'll be damed if I'm going to let someone come on my property stalking and harrassing me. Self defense dear.

Also think you're overthinking, though I understand the rural thing making it a bit easier for you to be followed.

Just make sure when you leave that nobody is sitting in their cars, and if they are, either let the bouncer know and chat with him until they leave, or go ahead and go but keep a close eye on if anyone turns out of the club after you. Maybe make the first turn you can after leaving, so they can't catch up to you on the same straight road.

I've never been followed home after work after almost 5 years of dancing. I'm sure it happens sometimes but I don't think it's as common as you think it is. If you're really worried wait until there are no customers and the parking lot is clear before you leave or never tell customers when your shift ends and sneak out quietly with a bouncer walking you of course. if you think someone is following you just call 911 and/or lead them to the police station. One girl told me she did this when some guys were supposedly following her.

You all are right, I tend to analyze things way too much before committing. I just wanted some professional insight on what you felt was safe Thanks for your help!

I have a machete, an alligator and a basement. I've never had an issues with stalkers.
