Exclamation Now Maybe US Strippers Can Unionize

    http://www.wsj.com/articles/labor-bo...ers-1440704018

I didn't strip for too long but always thought it was messed up that I was considered a independent contractor when I was forced at my strip club to agree to:

    1)Work certain hourly shifts
    2) Wear a certain uniform/look: Long Stripper Gown
    3) Perform on Stage at least once an hour
5)Work a certain amount of days
    6) Pay a house fee
    7) Pay penalty fee if I was late or not to dress code
Charge a certain amount per dance

IMO cam girls are more like independent contractors because we can wear whatever be on cam whenever, charge whatever.
Apparently this law was passed to help fast food workers but maybe can also help the sex worker community out including strippers.

Honestly I have to do a lot of that stuff at my club and I don't mind at all. Brings order to the club and makes it easier for me to make money. Plus I don't pay house fee.

Couldn't read the full article. Googled it and got the gist. It would be nice, although I don't really see it happening any time soon for strippers. A lot of girls I've met are transient, and like me now, I just go in for quick cash and go home. I'm not sure if a lot of people can be bothered with unionizing, although I'm sure there are those that want to.

Some strippers are actually for the scheduling and other stuff. Like you, I don't like set scheduling either and I have a regular job which currently takes precedence over any stripping job. I just don't give a fuck anymore about things like outfits and can't be assed to change more than once or twice a shift. One time I heard a girl complaining (weekday) that "soooo many girls come on just the weekends, making it harder for her to make money from her stage sets since she goes on stage less." She complained that they should force girls to work the weekdays too. Yeah no thanks. I'd rather complain less and focus on making money while I'm there, and would rather come in when I want. If I have a problem with it, I can always talk to the club's HR, located at another club. Plus weekdays are usually pretty good for me, with less girls being there and guys with jobs coming in. Anyways, I wonder how it would pan out if it does.
