hi guys! wanted to start camming and purchased webcam and lights after reading all the advice on this forum... but now am not sure if am ready and if I have to now save for new computer as well...I never did any camming before so am not sure and my computer is brand new only few months old so did not think about it until now.
I have macbook air 11 inches screen laptop with only 1.4 ghz processor - is my laptop too small and too weak for camming on mfc ? Thank you for any info.

I don't use macs, so I would need the rest of the specs.

Actually I just looked up this 5th gen Macbook air http://www.apple.com/macbook-air/specs.html

If this is it, you are going to have a rough time. Is it possible to cam off of? Yes. My old computer was similar and I made due with it. Took me a while to save and I don't cam consistently because my feed sucked. But you will want to save up to get something a bit beefier. You will want an i7 and at least 8gb RAM. Basically the "Configure to Order" specs on the bottom of the page I linked. I also don't know how well different cam sites run on MACs

Use what you have for now! Save up for it. I started using a old HP Pavilion and a build in webcam. Just cam and save, You'll be fine.

yes this is exactly it and thank you so much for linking...it is the 11inch and only 4gb memory and 1.4ghz - the screen is 11 inches small - could you tell me what you mean by "rough time"? Because if you think it might crash maybe I should just save some more...because would be very worried about not fully using new model status due to wrong computer.
This is very frustrating - I need to start working now am in difficult situation. But if I must buy new one I will do it.
The thing is I never streamed before just edited hd videos and my computer does it well.
Maybe there is something i could do to improve it - like shorter staying online? will my computer get overheated?
Thank you so much for your help I know you wrote you don't use macs so am open to any suggestions...but I never used pc - am truly not sure how to proceed and what to do. Have lights, makeup, great webcam, outfit...now this computer is the only thing I need to figure out.

My sites I cammed on were Streamate & Cams. I want to cam on MFC, but decided to wait until I have better gear to really make a lot of good $$ to make it worth doing everything in public. Maybe start on CB, as they are a bit easier and don't have the camscore.

My computer ran smoothly, I just couldnt run the HD encoder (SM) or get very good placement.

MFC is much less demanding on resources than any other camsite I have worked. They don't have anywhere near the HD video requirements that most other camsites have. I'm pretty sure you can get away with your current system without issue.

What's your internet speed like? Do you have an ethernet cable? You'd need to buy a special port for a MB Air I believe to use ethernet.

If your computer isn't stellar make sure your internet is, this way you won't have two things potentially causing problems.

I didn't mean for it to come off as I was trying to tell you not to cam in my earlier post. I just meant/ wanted you to realize that you may encounter issues more frequently than if you had a better system. Even if you get on and only make $10-15 an hour, it is better than doing minimum wage at Burger Land. Usually a system upgrade results making more money, so it is worth the investment.

Just make sure you are keeping up with daily/weekly maintenance in the meantime. Read https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...omputer-Health . The first page alone has enough info to keep your computer running smooth. Since your laptop is new there shouldn't be much that needs to be cleared out, that's how you want it to stay.

    thank you again!
