Dizzy Freaking out about my audition!

This is more to vent than to ask for any advice, though if any of you have some encouraging words that would be helpful. I finally, FINALLY picked up the phone and arranged for an audition for tomorrow night, and I'm really nervous, which is normal, but still. When I called it sounded like one of the dancers there answered instead of a manager, and I don't know...I was just so fucking awkward and nervous when I was talking to her. Like now all I can think about is if she went to the other dancers and is talking about this awkward freak that just called. Will she recognize me tomorrow and laugh at me??? Please send me some good vibes. I could use them.

AND now I have to figure out what to wear to the audition, I heard bikinis aren't a good choice but that's basically all I've got??? Oh my fucking god what have I done

I highly doubt a dancer picked up the phone. It was probably a door girl or maybe a server/bartender. No matter who it was, they have far better things to do than gather everyone around to talk about every phone call they receive. Setting up an audition is such a normal call for a club to receive that whoever did it probably doesn't even remember taking it anymore -- and they certainly won't be waiting around to laugh at you tomorrow. Girls audition at the club all the time -- it's such a normal occurrence that most of the staff don't even pay attention because they have their own jobs to worry about.

A cute bra and panty set would be ideal, but if all you have is a bikini, that's fine. It's just an audition. No one is expecting you to have a gown or fancy outfit. Most ladies start in whatever they have on hand and regular heels.

In any case: breathe. There is no reason to freak out. It's just an audition. Thousands on women have been in your shoes, and hundreds in the club you're going to. You are not the first and you certainly won't be the last. And I promise you -- once you get up off the stage, you'll wonder what the big deal was about.

    Good luck!

Go to the club as a customer first, if possible. That will give you a ton of info abt everything from dancer dress codes to stage rotation, dance/VIP setup, etc.

If that's not possible -- which it might not be at this point, if your audition is tomor, here's the nxt best thing. Everything abt auditioning has been covered extensively on this forum, so start reading. Look thru the first couple pgs of Newbie Board + Stripping General, then dig a bit deeper & read random threads in those sections from further back. You will find answers to questions you didn't even know you had.

While you're reading, take notes on things that you might want to know that would be particular to your club. Make a list: What should I wear for audition? What documents do I need to bring to get hired? Does the club issue 1099s or other tax forms? Do I need a licence/entertainer permit? How much are fees & tipouts? Does the club provide lockers or anywhere else to securely store my stuff? That sort of thing. Go back over your list & decide which things you Absolutely Must Know b4 going for your audition, then call the club back & ask.

Remember, many questions can be asked during the time immediately b4/after your audition as part of the hiring process. Think of it as a mutual interview, just like a vanilla-job interview. It's not just a matter of impressing the mgr or whoever you're talking to; you also have the power to decide whether you want to work there, & to make an informed decision, it's your right to ask as many questions as necessary abt your prospective job & workplace.

As Shanna said, phone calls to set up auditions & ask abt dancing at the club are part of their everyday work stuff. They probably get calls from veteran dancers just as often as from new girls. If you got any reaction at all from whoever answered the phone, I doubt it was anything more than a raised eyebrow & a 'Wow, this chick sounded really nervous! Wonder if she will actually go thru w/ it?' You were nothing more than a momentary blip on their radar, & it's highly unlikely they willl be having any say in whether you get hired or not. So relax, do your research here, & then get your ass into the club tomor & kill that audition.

When I auditioned at my first club, I was so nervous that I thought I was going to throw up. My phone interview was awkward as fuck, and the entire time I was on stage I was hoping I didn't puke on anyone. I didn't puke, and I got hired. The manager with whom I had that awkward phone interview bought me a drink to celebrate. I worked that night and made...well, not a lot, but I was officially a stripper, and I was never that nervous again.

I've been dancing for almost a year now, so I'm still kind of a noob, but when I see someone audition, I always remember how scared I was and mentally wish them the very best. I think most, if not all, girls are terrified when they audition. It's completely normal to be nervous, and anyone who judges you for that isn't really worth considering.

Go in there, audition, try not to throw up on anyone, and everything will be OK . And let us know how it goes! Sending good vibes your way.

I am sure no one will remember the call. You may have to buy stripper heels and a thong(some clubs won't let you audition without). You may wear a black or a red outfit (somehow I feel you can't go wrong with those 2 colors.)Good luck.

I think everyone has better things to do than dissecting your mental stability via telephone. -_-
