Mind Blowing Help me organize a schedule??

I'm stressing bad over all the shit I have to do, and not fitting it into the day.
I have work at 10:45 am until about 2 pm. Then I start my shift at the club from 7 until 1 or 2 am. I also really want to fit an hour for the gym everyday. I've been interested in lifting weights for a few months now but never get my lazy ass down there. AND I need to fit a few hours into study.
I've seriously been thinking about quitting my day job. I make 3 times more dancing than at that shitty restaurant, but I'm just scared to let that "security blanket" job go. And my mom will be super pissed. She hates me dancing enough as it is, but me quitting my "respectful" job just to dance? Oh hell no....
So what do you think? Should I go to the library first when I get off at 2 or the gym? Ugh help me manage this mess!
It's not like sleep is essential for living or anything ))))))))))))))))

I work that stupid shit job Mon-Fri and dance Friday and Saturdays every week but try to come in as much as I can. I'm not in school but I have to study for the ASVAB test (military) hopefully 8-9 hrs of sleep... What do you think about quitting my day job? Would that be wise?

Also, from your last two posts it sounds like you really want to quit your job. I would say keep it for now, it's good to have a change of pace job so you are interacting with different people on a day-to-day basis. Also, you can dump all that money earned into savings.

I would ask to scale back and maybe work M-Thur at that job. Will that be allowed? If so your schedule could look like:

If I were in your shoes:

    Mon: 9:30 wake up, 10:45-2pm job, 2-3 gym, 3-5 lunch/relax, 5-7 study, 7-8 relax, 8-9 dinner, 9-11 study, 11-12:30 relax get ready for bed
    Tue: 9:30 wake up, 10:45-2pm job, 2-3 gym, 3-5 lunch/relax, 5-7 study, 7-8 relax, 8-9 dinner, 9-11 study, 11-12:30 relax get ready for bed
Wed: 9:30 wake up, 10:45-2pm job, 2-3 gym, 3-4 lunch, 4-11 social time, hang with friends 11-12:30 relax get ready for bed
    Thur: 9:30 wake up, 10:45-2pm job, 2-3 lunch, 3-5 study, 5-6:30 relax, 7-2am work
    Fri: 11am wake up, 11:30-12:30 gym, 1-2 lunch, 2-4 study, 4-6:30 relax, 7-2am work
    Sat: 11am wake up, 11:30-12:30 gym/study optional, 1-2 lunch, 2-6:30 social time, 7-2am work
Sun: 11am wake up, all day social time, gym and study optional

My advice..don't go gung ho all at once....phase things in, phase things out. phase out the day job, if your in a time crunch, but try out a new schedule for 3 months before making this decision. Do you think I am putting too much on my plate or can this all manageable so long as I stay on track?

phase in the gym and study. don't need to do either 7 days a week to start. start 4x a week at the gym and 4x a week studying. if you feel more inspired, add an additional day or two to either. but only doing 4x a week to start wont make it feel like a burden.

    always leave time for play.

stay disciplined as fck. i find writing down the things you've accomplished at the end of the day/week shows how much progress you're making and where you might need to adjust.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions.

EDIT: 3 out of the 7 days should be the "all business mode" days where you make no exceptions for anything. Ideally Mon, Tue, and Thur
Yes joining the military has always been a dream of mine and is my primary goal. But thank you for helping me sort this crazy situation out. I just get so mad when I have no energy or time for the things I want to do.

I would go to the gym in the morning before the day job, then nap/study n between finishing there and going into work for the night.

Agree that you don't need to gym every day, especially to begin with. However shorter, more frequent sessions are usually better than longer ones less often.

You don't need to be in the gym for more than an hour max if you're training well.

Time management is def tricky when you have more than one job, good luck with it!

This isn't that much of a mess. Just do day job, library, night job. Gym every other morning if you want. If it makes you feel any better I just graduated from college but when I was still in school i was taking 18 units, working at a restaurant, interning at clinics, and working at the club on the weekends. I had no time for anything especially when I was taking all the sciences and had to spend all my free time studying. It just teaches you how to adult lol. aka Being responsible and managing your time wisely.

Re: gym -- as others have said, you don't NEED daily gym time, esp in the beginning. Every other day, or every third day even, depending on how your body feels, should be sufficient at first.

Also, cut out the commute time by working out at home. Invest in wgts, or improvise w/ easy-to-handle objects around the house. Start doing pushups (which you will need in spades if you're military-minded) & work on ALL the variations since they all require effort from different muscle groups, & they all require core strength so you will be building that as well. Google 'at home exercises' if you need more info on exercises, stretches, etc. Jump rope for cardio. Incorporate yoga or just do sm of the exercises super-slowly to increase muscle & balance.

If you're doing That Well dancing just two days a wk, then I would consider dropping the straight job in favour of full time dancing. Have you already taken the ASVAB once, or just a practise form of it? I know you said you're studying for it currently but just wondering.

The one thing I would think hard abt tho, as far as dancing, is if you get popped for anything it'll put the brakes on your military journey in a hurry. This is the one 'flip side' to my advice abt dropping the straight job in favour of dancing. Remember that shit always rolls downhill. They don't care abt dancing since it's legal, but I would be very careful that you stay away from anything the least bit dicey. If you happen to be working at a shady club, I think you should either switch clubs or quit altogether.

You could also work out at home (maybe buy some weights if that's what you're interested in) or go to the gym before going in to your day job. That'll help you start your day off with some energy too.

I'd start with cutting the restaurant to once a week. That's IF you have the self motivation to keep dancing / maybe even add a few hours extra dancing a week !
My guess is that you'd honestly make the 2 days at the restaurant if you just add a few more hours dancing which would free up time for gym .

Fair warning: here comes my efficient bitch side:
This is really NOT much to do, especially with not having anything except 3 hrs/day in a mandatory schedule. Really. You have 15 hours of work/week scheduled, plus whatever you feel like doing at the club or at the gym. I really do not understand what you are 'stressed' about.

Get up at 8:30, go to the gym every other morning for an hour or lift weights at home, shower, go to work, study or go to the club. Boom. You want to quit the restaurant job, do it and work 4 nights a week at the club. I'm assuming you'll need to work more to make what you need since you're new, so 4 nights is reasonably safe even if you make $100 a night. I'm sure hostessing doesn't pay diddly squat.

I WISH I had this little to do. I work 2-3 nights at the club, have 4 400-level science classes, 2 mornings in a research lab, and a horse to ride. Somehow I fit it all in and have plenty of time to bullshit around. I get up in the morning, think about what I want to get done today, and do it.

Haha I can be pretty lazy :p I do still really want to quit that job, though. What time do you get up and go to bed most nights?

It varies depending on if I have class in the morning. School days, I get up around 8:30 am. Non-school days, I don't get up until 10ish (sometimes later if I worked a long or mentally taxing shift the day before).
I go to bed sometime between midnight and 4am... it's really all over the place with varying rhyme and reason. The latest I get home from work is 1am. Not a fan of staying until close.
I am also a psychotic Type A freak that will come home from the club and use the already whirring brain and Red Bull hype to cram an hour of studying in, so I seem to 'create' more hours in a day than normal people.

Better nip that lazy attitude in the ass if you're really intent on going into the military. You would also do well to grow a backbone & start making solid decisions on your own instead of constantly asking to be spoonfed reassurance. No one in your unit is going to want to deal w/ a 'weak link'.

When do I go to bed? If my ass has to be up at 0530 for work the nxt day I turn in 2130 at the latest. I'm naturally a nite owl, & yrs of dancing made that a lot worse, but I've adjusted. Also, after a wk of daywork, going to bed 'late' which for me is now pretty much anything after 2300 fks my sleep up. So that might be smtg to consider -- maintain as regular a bedtime as possible, whenever you decide that bedtime should be.

Time management is simply figuring out what you want to do -- A, B & C; how much time does each item take, & how long does it take to travel from A's location to B's location. Everything else, you structure around those factors.
