Default new here and I start this weekend

Hi I'm Cynthia (my dancer name) and since I am new to all this so please forgive if I ask anything dumb lol.

I've been trying to get into dancing for a few months now and I finally got the call back after an audition. I went to the club day before labor day with a friend and they were doing auditions so I figured why not. I was totally not prepared for it and thought I bombed it but just an hour ago they called me and asked if I could start this coming Saturday night.

I'm really nervous now. I have been studying dance in college so I know how to move and all that and I stripped nude during the audition, but that wasn't in a room filled with customers lol.

I've got my outfit picked out already, boots a pink mini skirt and mesh top with pink bra and matching g-string panties and of course a garter for tips. The club also has it's own set of clothes so I don't have to wear the same thing for each dance. That's good right? The rules of this club are we dance for two songs (3-4 mins each), topless by the end of the first song and nude close to the start of the second. The club also does table and lap dances which is what I'm most nervous about.

Is there any advise you all can give me? I'd like to think with my dance experience I'll be okay but I'm so going to be a nervous wreck that first dance.

Well you already got over the first hurdle (auditioning) so you're on your way!

Start by reading thru the first couple pages of Newbie Board + Stripping General. You can find threads on pretty much anything imaginable. Then start digging into random pages of those boards from further back. A lot of the gold is kinda buried.

Body Business will have the best makeup hair & outfit advice. Hustle Hut will help you out w/ the bulk of your $$$-making, bc actual stage dancing is only a very small part of this job.

Thanks so much. I was afraid I would be laughed at here or something. I will be sure to read the thread you told me. I am also going by the club tomorrow night as a guest to just sit and watch the other dancers, get a feel for the place, and get more familiar with how things are done there. The manager even suggested I get a private dance to see how it's done there, not sure if that was advise of him trying to get money from me lol. I might do it not sure. I guess it couldn't hurt right?

I guess I'll have to practice my flirting skills too wont I?

If you'd feel more prepared, sure, buy a dance when you're in the club. Personally, I wouldn't even bother visiting the club at this point because you're already hired and will just be wasting money on things you can see for free once you work. Like, you can watch the stage at the beginning of your shift, and you can discreetly watch when other dancers are giving lap dances. Stage and lap dances really aren't all that complicated -- once you know the rules and see one or two dancers, you'll figure it out. Besides, most customers are happy to pay to play guinea pig for a newbie.

As for the club providing clothes -- be sure to ask how much those cost. I suspect it's someone selling outfits, not that you can loan out an outfit for your shift (although maybe that is the case, who knows), but either way, nothing in the club is free.

And your flirting skills/hustle will be your money maker by far, so definitely focus more on those than your outfits or stage show.

    Good luck!

Actually yeah you are right about the clothes I found out I basically have to either bring my own or rent the stuff the club has. so I will go shopping this week to get some stuff. I may still go in to watch but what you said does make sense. I must sound totally naive here

Also I said something wrong up there it's not full nude since there is beer. its down to g-string. I never understood that rule but I can live with it.

^I think that's pretty standard in a lot of the US. It tends to be local liquor laws not allowing nudity where booze is served.

Don't worry about buying too many outfits. I'd say bring 2 with you on your first day, tops. Once you start dancing, you will get a better idea of what works in your club, what stands out in a good way, what's easy to take off/put back on quickly, and what's most flattering to you. What you think will work now isn't necessarily going to be the best, so no sense in wasting too much money.

thanks Shanna dior. I am actually starting tonight not this weekend apparently a shift opened up and they asked if I wanted it and I jumped.

I will take your advise to heart tonight. I have 3 outfits to bring and they are interchangeable enough I can get more than one out of each.

I'm going to try to have fun

Take a lock for your bag and try not to take any valuables with you.
Be courteous to other dancers/staff but give them the chance to befriend you; some clubs can be very bitchy.
Only you set the boundries for what level of contact you provide in a lapdance- don't be pressured into allowing more because anyone else said you should... provided what you are doing is legal (don't be a prostitute in the club)
    Breathe.

Ask one of the girls she they will give you dance, and show how things are done. It never hurts to ask another girl working. Just dont piss her off.

Hi Cynthia! I'm a newbie as well and I'm wondering how your first night of stripping went. Just curious. I will be going to my first audition very soon.
