Default How Do You Embrace Fall Season?

Its cold as f*ck here! And winter is fast approaching.

It seems like the season I dread the most. I don't know if its me but winter seems gloomy. Foliage is dying, the sun is not out as long and its darker at night faster, can't stay outside too long, electricity bills are higher, people seem ruder, flu season, etc.

How do you embrace the fall and winter season so it doesn't seem like such a drag?

Find things you enjoy this time of the year. Such as apple picking, going to see a performance or movie. And planning for the holidays.

I LOVE it because it's Halloween time and it's finally not 100* here... and my electric bill goes down... so I can't help you on that.

Don't you like any of the stereotypical 'basic bitch' stuff people make fun of girls for? I get excited for the silly Starbucks flavors (NOT pumpkin spice though, lol), picking out pumpkins to carve, switching out wardrobes for the boots and sweaters, etc.

^^^ I love fall too, for the above reasons also.
I HATE and dread Summer, and the oven-like temps. It's STILL 100 degrees here, and it's Oct.! Sheesh!
I melt and feel weak and very sick in hot weather, headaches, lethargy, ughh! I just went through HELL with a crazy landlord/roomie who wouldn't let me turn on the a/c all summer!
I love shorter days, because I am allergic to the sun. I love Halloween, and love pulling out my cute clothes, and being able to FINALLY wear my long hair down, which it's too hot in the summer to ever do.

I have a theory that I'm too lazy to google to verify or discredit. That theory is that people made the winter solstice such a huge celebration to give cold, depressed people something to look forward to. I personally love the fall because I'm a homebody and like to leave my window open and curl up under an electric blanket with a good book. I'm also in Texas, so it's still hitting 90 degrees in the sun some days. I'd recommend lots of warm beverages, filling your house with the smell of fall festivities (wax melts, yay), lots of decorations, and planning food-related events with loved ones every two weeks.

I haven't experienced season changing in seven years. Here in the tropics we get hot, really hot, afternoon monsoons, and maybe it will drop to 60F for like 2 two weeks.

I miss the leaves and smell, but not the cold weather. Nope.

I used to like fall, but it is not the same down here. There is no crisp fall air, no apple picking, no tailgating at football games in the cold with hot chowder and warming booze, no piles of leaves for my kids to jump into, etc. I am still walking around in shorts and a t-shirt, though thankfully it is finally starting to cool down at night and get less humid. Now I sure don't miss harsh northeast winters, but I sure do miss the fall.

I love Halloween, scary movies, haunted houses, Christmas, fall scented candles, baking, hot cocoa and flavored coffee, holiday decorations, fall flavored things etc. I just never embrace the cold weather or the fall and winter clothing. I like shorts and sandals and dresses I hate wearing layers and bundling up and im such a whiney little bitch when I feel cold lol. It's not even that cold where I live compared to most places so I can't even imagine how unbearable I would be if I lived somewhere that's ACTUALLY considered cold haha. It's still 80-90 degrees here and im savoring every last second of it.

You just have to make the best of it though and focus on the things you do like about whatever season you're in. I need to work on this as well

Ha. Basic bitch. My sister and I have this running joke about basic bitches. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte the other day and told her that just made me a bit basic. Haha.

Time to buy new hunting and fishing licenses, antique shows are starting, have to start decorating for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. I saw Wal*Mart already has their Christmas decorations on the shelves.

Can you say Seasonal Affect Disorder (SAD)! The Fall and Winter bite! More Vitamin D and exercise are the only things that chase the gloom away! Forget the dopey light boxes.

I'm LOVING the Culver's Pumpkin Salt Carmel/Pumpkin Pecan mini concrete mixers (shakes). I didn't care for the pumpkin latte @ SB, but love the Mocha Coconut Frapp.

I change my scent to Hypnotic Poison, reminds me of my Mother and November. I personally absolutely love the cold till I can't feel my cheeks and nose. Always break out the hot chocolate mugs, coconut spiced nutmeg Ice cream, cookies (once in a rare while) and sweet potato dishes. It also gives me an excuse to pull out my cute jackets/hoodies and burn scented pumpkin, cinnamon spices. Reminds me of waking up as a kid with the kitchen being an utter chaos, smell of Pecan pies airing out the window, burnt pineapples and slow roasting Turkey. Walking under falling leaves & early Christmas lights being hung.

you mean the best season of all?? the one perk of living in New England is the glorious falls..nobody does autumn like new england.

1.i make pumpkin pies from scratch, like actually cutting up the pumpkin and making the crust myself. doing cream cheese pumpkin swirl brownies! apple crisps, apple cider, etc. lots and lots of baking with pumpkin, apples, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves i'm not into coffee, but if you are you have the whole treasure trove of season goodness.

    2. the pumpkin picking/carving and apple picking.

    3. hayrides, corn mazes, bonfires.

4.decorating every inch of your home with pumpkin lights, black candles, and leaf garlands.

4.watching all the scary halloween movies..in particular sleepy hollow with johnny depp.

    5. going into salem where they do a lot of halloween stuff like parades and pumpkin lightings.

    6. obsessing over every detail of your halloween costume

    7. its also hunting season for the more outdoorsy types

    8. this year I wanna do leaf rubbings and try and make my own scented candles and plan an actual halloween party. i have a kid so i have an excuse to some of the more childish/fun stuff like apple bobbing
