Default Which type of Massage do you like?

I am looking to treat myself to a massage in the next few days, and am considering going to have a Thai massage.

In the past I've had a couple of Swedish type salon massages which I didn't find very beneficial, so since then have always gone for deep tissue/sports type treatments to ensure I really feel something and continue to feel the benefit afterwards.

I've wanted to try Thai massage for a while, so wondered if anyone has any experience or information on it.

The place near me has a choice of the traditional treatment through your clothes or an oil massage and I can't decide. I want to experience the traditional one but am not sure if I will miss the sensation of being massaged with oil.

I have been extremely stressed recently and really want to feel wrung out and then relaxed afterwards(I can handle feeling sore/emotional etc as a result as I know it will ease).

Depends on the therapist of course, but is traditional Thai a good option, or do you know of other types of massage that might suit?

If you're looking to get a great massage, go to an independent LMT. You won't get any of the bells and whistles that come with spa treatments, but you're looking for LMTs who are skilled and passionate enough to have their own businesses. Many of these LMTs offer customized sessions where they combine all of their modalities into a session that fits your needs, whereas a spa tries to sort modalities out by price (e.g. $60 for swedish, $90 for deep tissue, etc.). Many of them work out of rooms in their homes, or out of very modest buildings, or out of rent-rooms-by-the-session businesses, so understand that before you walk in (don't be creeped out if the location isn't ideal). This route is for people who are paying for the massage instead of the location.

And ALWAYS get a 90-minute session, unless you're only getting one part of your body worked on. If you're getting a full-body massage, spring for the 90 minutes. As an LMT, I have to say that trying to give a decent full-body massage in 60 minutes (50 minutes including time to get dressed and do the pre-massage interview) is extremely difficult. Having the extra half hour makes an incredible difference for both the therapist and the client!

^Thanks Charlie. I'm definitely more concerned with the quality of treatment than needing a fancy looking spa/salon setting. (Ideally a combination of high quality massage along with a plush setting would be great but I do have a limited budget)!

I also agree about getting 90 minutes, was actually planning to do so for my upcoming massage as I have felt rushed with 60 minutes for full body in the past.

I am a massage freak! agree with Charlie.

I do love a traditional thai massage though!

^I love massage. It really shouldn't be a luxury but part of general upkeep, like it is in Asia...I'm always promising myself not to leave it so long between treatments.

I miss my indy massage guy..lost touch w/him though I tried to find him .
One of the things I loved is that he was trained in many, if not all the different types of massage. & was great about throwing in extra time for me.

I LOVE Thai massage. Many here do a combo of the dry massage for 45 min and oil for 45 and they are so incredible.
I don't think you'll regret doing the Thai style. The style is stronger in general .

Thai is my favorite but its not a relaxing massage. You don't receive the benefits until the next day.

    I love professional massages.

I got one so good I had a mild orgasm. No she didn't touch my privates but she did massage my glutes. Best kind of massage I had was at a resort overseas. Mmmmm.

Sounds amazing, I'm going to ask if they can do this at the Thai place. Can't wait!

I love any massage I get as long as I don't have to reciprocate, or talk.
I've had spinal/muscular issues since I was a teen, and deep massage is the only type that I get relief from.

The downside is that my breasts are too large to lay on my stomach and have them squished into the table. I invested in a massage chair.
I def agree with booking 90 minutes. If you like foot massages, it's great when they can spend time there also.

I've only had traditional thai massages and remedial massages. I preferred thai, i like doing them without oil sometimes too! I always go regularly then forget for ages. Ill have to get one very soon!

Swedish is my favourite! I also love trying out new type of massage, I really loved the Lomi-Lomi. Never tried thai though, I love being completely naked under the sheets and oil I'm more into a relaxing massage, good pressure but not too much, I'm really tiny 5'4 and 110 lbs so I rarely have to complain about the pressure, it's easier for the massage therapist to go too strong than not enough lol.

I once had such a hot massage therapist, his hands were so soft they were softer than mine and his massage was sooo good. Whenever he massaged my inner thighs I was hoping he would rub my p*ssy at some point LOL

I wish there were erotic massage parlor with male therapist catered towards women.
