Default Aussie wanting to dance in Vegas/Miami?? Advice

    Hi,

I'm a dancer in Australia looking to go to the USA on holidays with some friends next year, June 2016. I'm curious if anyone has any experience of dancing while overseas? - can I do this with out a work visa, especially if it's only going to be a couple of nights? The strip clubs here are pretty relaxed about that kinda thing but I'm worried it might be more strict over there.

Anyone have recommendations of particular clubs in Vegas or Miami that might suit?
I don't wanna lug my pleasers all that way for no reason

    Thank you 💕

Since Vegas requires a sheriff's card and business license, that's out 100%. I don't believe Miami requires a license, so that's potentially an option if you find somewhere willing to overlook you working illegally -- insert the standard, "if they're willing to overlook that, they're likely willing to overlook other laws" boilerplate. Thing is, no one can guarantee that you will be find a club that will hire you, and certainly no club will commit to it over email/phone, so you may end up lugging those heels with you for no reason anyway. FWIW I would recommend leaving the heels at home though -- while you're likely to enter the country without any problems, if you do happen to get pulled aside for further screening, good luck explaining why you have those on you.

And in case anyone else is curious -- the US doesn't offer working holiday visas or work visas for strippers (unless you're a feature with credits and have shows booked at clubs), so unless you have a US passport, there's no way to legally work there.

Thankyou for taking the time to respond
I've read so many different pages on this & was just really muddled about the cards & licenses- we have none of that here, my manager has my phone number & dancer name that's as official as my club is lol. That clears it up a heap

Il leave them at home then, better work my butt off here the next few months & make some spending money

^ Besides, dancer shoes and outfits are soooooo cheap in the US- order online and have them deliver if the stores are pricey then post the stuff back home when you don't need it anymore.

Its also worth mentioning; health insurance. Injure yourself working in a club and its bags of trouble! Dr and hospital visits over there are pricey.

Oooooh good point! I bet any traveler's insurance you get wouldn't cover injuries sustained while working either.
