    Default My c910 died :(

So this morning my logitech c910 died, it has been on it's last leg. I just looked them up and they seem to go for $300 now on Amazon. Does anyone know how the B910 compares to it? A while back I ordered a new c920, but was not impressed with it. It really yellowed me out. My main site is SM, anyone have any good camera suggestions in the $100 - $150 price range?

I had to pick up a c920 after my c910 started wonking out on me in the last two weeks. The image quality is a pain in the ass--totally agree. It whited me out badly and other complaints have been that it's too yellow. The fix is actually super easy and if you have the c920 on you, you can do it really quickly now. Plug the thing in and open up the control panel for it and go under advanced options. Several of the tabs (white balance or RightLight, for example) are probably automatically tuned and locked with a checked box. Uncheck these and play with them. You'd be amazed at how much you can adjust the quality in the lighting with a few quick slider moves. I've gotten back to an image very close to my c910--almost better than. Worth a shot if you're looking to save cash--free if you still have the c920 and only about $75 to buy if you don't.

https://forums.logitech.com/t5/Webca...em/td-p/943770 <-- I used the guide from this guy to deal with my white out issue. He's using multiple cameras, but he still goes through the steps to improve the image. It should give you a solid idea of what to do. Good luck!

Issabelle thank you so much! My c910 is great (I use it with a Mac) but it's old and I've been wondering what to do when it dies. I bookmarked this thread-awesome!

I also love the c910 more than the c920. I use it as a back up cam. The c910 also has much better audio quality because the microphone has better specifications than the c920.

You can download the 'Logitech Camera Setting' from the Apple aps store for free to adjust the image quality! It's good for Mac and PC.

Fwiw, my c910 is almost 3 years and counting! They don't make 'em like they used to. lol

Thank you Marina for the info on the app. Nice to see you (and everyone) - I've been away from SW.

Yeah, the reviews on the c930 are basically total shit and I have no idea what else to go with, so with the c920 being heavily discounted since the new c930 came out I figured it's totally worth learning to make it work. That said--if anyone finds a cache of c910's for sale at a decent price, I EXPECT to be informed.

Thanks for the advice. Since I really need a cam now and didn't want to spend much, I got the c920 and also picked up a c615, so I can splitcam while using SM Broadcast. For some reason my c920 is majorly pixelated in SM Broadcast? I am trying to calibrate it. Also, I can't seem to mirror image my c920, any suggestions?

Hmmm, can you nto have mirror image with the c920 when in 1080p? I can get it at 480, but not 720 or 1080.

Yeh, eBay is the way to go! Great link. Thanks!

RE: difference between C910 & B910, it's the software, so says this Logitech link
If you use the 'consumer' features, like taking photos with it, or doing video recordings, then the C910 (consumer) version is what they suggest.
B910 was a business version (no fancy commercial packaging, nor the software for photo/video capture).

The thread states that the C910 driver download doesn't work for the B910, but I think that may be old info. But to be safe, buy the C910's, or contact Logitech Support to be sure the software isn't interchangeable.

Or, if the photo/video capture isn't something you use, the B910 should be fine.

I have B910 and I was told by support that I cannot mirror it in the SMBroadcast because there is a h.264 limitation with the Logitech software. Support even sent me a link to the Logitech forums explaining the limitation.

I can flip my image in SMBroadcast with 480 but as soon as I try with higher settings, my image stays incorrectly flipped and there is nothing I can do about it. I think I'm gonna have to buy a new webcam in order to stream with the new broadcaster.

Sadie, I hope you're able to resolve your issue soon.

I think my Logitech C920 is dying/has died too. I was constantly getting kicked out of my MFC public chat (I'd get kicked out, and then automatically redirected back to my room), and then was getting kicked out of my Cams and ImLive video chats as well. I will post tweets announcing that I'm live on cam, and then a minute later the tech issues would start with my cam freezes up. It's so frustrating. I have Flash installed, and I'm able to watch YouTube videos, etc. online with no problems. It's just camming that I can't seem to do lately without having some sort of issue. I think it's time to get rid of this webcam. I've had it for a long time. You know those people on Craigslist who like to buy broken computers from people (I guess for them to work on?)? Do you think there are people like that willing to buy a messed up Logitech C920 webcam? LOL.

Okay, I think I do remember someone on here mentioning a while back that you can get it free if you still have your previous webcam. How do I go about getting it for free? I think my Logitech C920 has died on me (or is dying on me), but when I searched my past Amazon order history, it doesn't show any Logitech purchases from me. So I guess I bought this webcam from eBay, or some other website, on in a store.
