Hey everyone,
I just wanted to share a website with you that I saw to be very similar to my life goals. It's about being smart about the way you spend and invest your hard-earned money and retire easily. Even though i don't agree with the retiring part, it is quiet handy if you are working only to make money. I hope it's ok to post links: http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/
I am a frugal and minimalist person myself. I really dislike consumption culture, food waste and material luxury. I aim to spend my money on experiences instead of things, and he focuses on tips and tricks of how to do that.
If you like, we can also use this thread to share our ways of fixing our budgets. For example Simple Budget app and You Need a Budget (free for students) softwares are very good at helping you keep track of your spendings. When you start typing in your expenses, you automatically become more careful about spending.
I wish everyone debt free, smart days!

For now I am still a student, surviving on 600 euroes a month, but I hope to keep on my living style so that I can save what's left of my (hopefully fat) pay check after I subtract the 600-800 euroes I live on.
). Another idea i got from there is about piggy banking where you have different 'pots' (read, bank accounts) to keep different money in. So when you get paid you portion it off into those pots, so you'd have a tax pot, household expenses pot, bills pot, emergencies pot, holiday savings pot, luxuries pot and so on. if you choose high interest paying current accounts (savings accounts are dead, forget them), you can benefit from the growth on these pots too! Really awesome info out there on ways to cut down spending, maximise earnings and savings, and just generally making your money work for you x
