Default Do dark roots hinder $$

I color my hair platinum blonde and currently my roots are pretty badly grown out (not horrible but still). I can't imagine customers like that look even though it doesn't seem like a huge deal. They won't be fixed for a couple more days.

I have a brunette wig that looks pretty natural on me and I'm not sure if you guys think I'd be better off wearing it than showing my dark roots? It gets somewhat uncomfortable but not unbearable and I've worn it before to work. in general though, I do make a bit more money blonde...but the roots have seemed to slightly hinder my money in the past. However it could have been my belief they looked bad that caused me to earn less.

Do other blondes seem to make less when their roots grow out? Thoughts on the wig thing?

I think you are overthinking it. I don't notice anything different. I go like 8-9 weeks between appts, which is horrifying to most blondes I know.
I worked with a girl once who had her roots grown out almost half the length of her hair She still rocked it out every day and was a great hustler.

Im platinum and i let my roots grow out a little over half an inch before i bleach. Ive never not made money because of it. A few times customers have commented "haw haw i KNEW that wasn't your natural color!" I just think "wow youve really cracked the case. White hair does not naturally grow out of my head, you soOo got me"

But no it's not a big deal at all. The only way it looks bad is if its like 2 in of roots. Even worse if the blonde is yellow-y

nope..there's a lot most hetero men dont notice or care about..shoes, bags, designer name labels, the roots of your hair..i dont think its worth wearing a scratchy hot wig for personally. if most of your hair is blond and you make more as a blond, leave it.

It's really not that big of a deal. Guys sometimes make stupid comments, like above, "ooooh, you're not a real blonde!" Like... duh... I've also had guys comment, literally the second some dark roots starting showing up 2 weeks after bleaching "oooh, you need to touch up your roots!" Uh... no... not after 2 weeks. That would destroy my hair, idiot. Men really don't know as much as they think they do about hair.

Despite all this, they'll still spend money. When I couldn't get ahold of my stylist, I went 4 months once before a root touchup. When I finally got it done, a couple guys made comments about "Oh, you finally touched up your roots. They were getting pretty bad." But that didn't stop them from spending money at the time. It's really not a big deal. Don't stress yourself and go overboard just to cover a small amount of dark hair.

I think deep down I miss being brunette and wanted an excuse to wear the wig lol...but money comes first and blonde is where the $$ is at in my case

I have umbre blonde hair, I went from all the way blonde to my hairdresser dying my roots on purpose and Ive even had more brown added since so its about 1/3 brown n rest is blonde. I get a lot of complements from girls/ gay guys but the customers seem to not have caught on to this style yet, at least some of them. Ive had a couple of them tell me to "go get my hair done" lol and I'm like i just got it done thanks. umbre/dark roots has been in style for years now so I think u could pull it off as if you meant 4 them 2 be grown out. My $ has stayed the same either way.

I do this now too. I'm almost at the point of being 1/2 brown/natural and 1/2 blonde. I'm really pleased with how it grew out. The only comment I've ever gotten on it is along the lines of "oh, your hair is more brown these days." Yeah, good eyesight lol Other than that, I've gotten really nice compliments on it.
