Cam Girls, how much on average do you make per hour?

Why do you wanna know?
Well, she posted in the stripper forum...stripper trying to see if caming is worth it?
You won't get an accurate answer with such a small sample size. Just go on cam and find out how much YOU can make.

This Homey don't play that. Posts like this creep me out. Especially from a newbie. Don't we have other threads about this same topic? Look them up
What could be wrong with her just asking a question? I don't see anything wrong with this post, she just wants to know. I mean I could be wrong.
I wonder this too, because I have a vanilla job, and have been wondering if I want to leave it, to cam full time. And I worry whether that's a bad idea or not. Because I have a regular day job, I only cam about 2-5 hours per week, so I might make more if I was on more often? I earn anywhere from 2 dollars per hour on a bad day, to thirty dollars per hour on a good day. I think my average is 10 dollars per hour, so far..

I don't have a problem with this post. It's a poll. It's anonymous. No one has to come out and say "I make this much." It takes two seconds and you can ignore it. What's the big deal?

The question in and of itself isn't the problem. It's that earnings are very personal information to many people and it's no less awkward/potentially rude to ask a camgirl how much she earns than it is to ask a teacher or a lawyer. Without an explanation as to why she needs these numbers, most aren't going to be willing to share. Also, the thread Jess links to right above me is fairly recent and covers various incomes girls make. It ended up being locked (as every income-related thread before it has been, from what I can remember) because it devolved into an argument/pissing contest/misunderstanding hell. Income is personal and personal things are dangerous topics if not handled with care. Hence why people aren't responding.
Our averages will not matter in terms of you going to full time cam or keeping your vanilla job because our earnings are not your earnings. It doesn't matter if it's possible for a top model to make $1000/hour--you are not that girl. Your hustle, skills, looks, time online--everything is different. Could you possibly get to her earnings or above? Sure, possibly, but knowing what other people can/do earn is not going to influence whether that happens or not.
So, tl;dr version: it's a very personal, sensitive question being asked by someone with no prior presence in the community who has not explained why she wants to know this information or what she expects to gain from it, the information is also generally not at all relevant for her to know, and the last time it was asked ended up a shit storm, so basically people are a bit protective.
I agree that it's a personal question, but it IS an anonymous poll. My problem with this poll is that my earnings fluctuate too much. What I'm averaging this week isn't the same as two weeks ago, and probably won't be the same two weeks from today either.

Not sure why it is such a big deal - if you dont want to share dont answer

I don't personally think it should be a big deal, so I totally agree with you here Nikki. I may have lost track of my own point in writing my last post, so I'll try to clarify it better now. I have no issue whatsoever with the question being asked, but I don't know how to answer it in any useful or meaningful way without context. If the OP is wandering what all camgirls average (regardless of hours online, tech, look, experience, etc.), then it's a different question from 'what do top models make' and 'what did you average as a new model' and so on. I'm assuming based on how the question was asked that it's in the vein of 'what do all camgirls in general make regardless of other factors?' and that's why I fall back on the 'how is this information useful to you' response question as well as why I suspect many girls aren't answering (lack of context = lack of helpful replies). That' all.
My science degree and research background are coming out hard core right now, I think. I spent one too many weekends as a college TA reading freshman research proposals and marking comments of 'yes, but what exactly are we hoping to garner from this information that makes this a good use of our research time? Please be more specific' lol.

I didn't mind voting either. Some people will have a problem with it, some won't. I think that a poll is a great way to keep things anonymous so that people who want to contribute can, and people who don't.. don't have to.. without there being a huge backlash one way or the other.

I think it also depends on what your motivation for camming is. There are girls who use camming for spending money as suppliment for their vanilla job. Their hours are less and they don't market as much. Those girls will naturally make less.
Then there are the career camgirls who treat their camming like a legit business/profession. They work hard and long hours plus marketing to make their high rates.

what's a cam girl?

I didn't get it but lol if it was a joke![]()
