Default Vegas clubs less likely to hire dancers of color?

I was reading some threads saying in certain areas some dancers are subject to racism in this industry. I heard that in Vegas they're not friendly with dancers of color. Is this true? I was curious because I'm half Brazilian Mexican and Italian half Russian descent. I have natural curly darker blond hair and lighter eyes that are sometimes blue. But I am like more a tan complexion. And I have fuller lips and other telltale signs I'm not just white. And it never crossed my mind that that would be an obstacle. But there are a lot less black people here in general in Nevada so I guess that would make sense. I thought mainly the look would matter over ethnicity. Is it true that it's a problem for some people of color?

If you're white-passing or light skinned you should be fine.
I worked there earlier this year. I'm tall, and slim but they still treated me horribly in Vegas. I was only hired at 2 clubs, but even the customers are rude and dismissive of black girls typically. Spearmint Rhino would probably be your best bet if you're an out of town WOC but don't expect them to be nice to you. They treated me like garbage

Wow! When I got hired there, there was a dark skinned black girl that had just been hired a few min before me. Tall, model type build. I will say though that WOC made up a very small percentage of dancers I saw during the period I worked there.

I'm not white looking. Most people think I'm middle eastern Egyptian north African or indian or when I'm not wearing make up East African. I'm distinctly different from dark skinned black women. But It's laughable to even think of me as white. The closest to white I look is like Arab. I tan VERY easily. So I can get super brown. If I like fade the tan fast and stay inside for 2 weeks never going to work or anything I become light brown. I have always been told I looked like a terrorist or muslim as well. Which is really annoying because people out me as Muslim all the time in the stores and the like. I don't know I don't look stereotypical black. I'm not dark skinned. But I don't look white.

I'm also not tall and thin lol. I'm more short and curvy.

I was really not talking about dark skinned black women. I was talking about people who weren't white. Like are Hispanic women hired? Or biracial women?

From what I'm understanding in general they don't want to hire too many who aren't white right?

A lot of Vegas clubs are very picky in general, not even just with color but with body type, style, etc. I think this is because the better clubs have hundreds of girls auditioning a day so they can afford to be.

I've only been in two Vegas clubs (never worked but visited for one reason or another) and sadly, didn't see very many black women in either. I did see other ethnicities though so you should be fine. Little Darlings was one of them and they had a good amount of hispanic and mixed girls. I hear mixed things about their management though. Also, if you're pretty, well put together, and in good shape Spearmint Rhino could be an option for you. I know a few black girls and mixed girls who worked there, they were all attractive and in shape but they do hire women of color. I can't speak to how management will act towards you because I've never worked there.

I was thinking about little darlings. My shape isn't proportional but it's fit. I have really large breast broad shoulders much more than my hips and the like. So I guess I'm not perfection.

Rhino intimidates me because I'm new to this. I'm not that skilled of a dancer in this sense

Maybe try sm where other than Vegas to get started, if it's possible.

Like KaraLynn said, a lot of the trouble in Vegas stems from the fact that it's a SC mecca w/ a 'major $$$$$' reputation, so girls flock there like nobody's business. She wasn't exaggerating abt 100s of girls auditioning daily. The stripper market there is very oversaturated & that results in a number of consequences, one of which is that clubs can afford to be super-choosy.

Quite a few veteran dancers go there, & don't do well even if they get hired. Vegas is a shark tank in every sense of the term.

Also, there isn't any kind of inherent benefit from starting at a top-end club, other than the POTENTIAL (not the guarantee) of more $$$. Starting at a lower-end club or even a dive will allow you to gain a lot of the same experience, but typically in a much more laid-back atmosphere. You can always 'upgrade' later when you've gotten a better handle on what personally works for you.

Well I live in Vegas so that's why I wanted to dance here. I could try also dancing in like Reno but that I would imagine would be even worst. Since it's hard to find black people in the city itself. And then grand rapids is my hometown I don't even know of that clubs there I knew maybe one existed when I was there 7 years ago. But it's extremely far away. So I'm kind of stuck. Maybe with the money I get next Saturday I move and try to see how things go. But if I do that it would be too costly.

I've auditioned at most of the top and mid tier clubs here and the only one that has never hired me is Treasures and every time I've ever been in there with friends, we either don't see any black dancers or we just see one. WOC don't all have a problem getting hired here because clubs have lots of Asians and Latinas but a lot have black girl quotas. Like someone mentioned before, go to Rhino or else go to Cheetahs. They are the most friendly towards WOC in my opinion.
