Default Got a letter from Experian

Today I received a letter in the mail about a breach of data on their servers and t-mobile. So the crazy part is that the letter was sent to my cam name to my home address. I confused and kinda freaked out. Did this happen to anyone else? What should I do? Its not my government name.

Yes and they are offering a 2 year membership with protectmyid. I know this seems strange but I hate talking on the phone.

Somewhere in the past your camming name got entered in your credit report. Credit bureaus are infamous for making massive and inaccurate data sweeps, and data entry people (just about anyone) that uses them for anything can put all kinds of crazy data in there as far as aliases, "jobs", companies you might not work for, bad addresses, phone numbers, wrong relatives and contacts, etc.

    Some possibilities:
    - You used your cam name as a DBA or did something business related with taxes or banking
    - A client sent a gift to your cam name using credit of some sort (Paypal, Amazon, etc)
    - You used a camming company as an employment or income reference, and they were too dumb to not give your cam name when called.
    - Something "billable" you did on the internet was done with your cam name in the profile...a service you signed up for or a product you bought.
    - Scammers attempting any of the above knowing only your cam name and any other data they phished for.

There could be a few others, but these will definitely link you like that.

The bad part is that its on your credit record now...at least "Your Cam Name" is on the credit record. You need to simply write them a letter and say "This person isn't me and doesn't live at this address, please correct the records and remove all references to this person." Its truth insofar as your cam name is not the real you, it is a public persona that could theoretically be bought and sold independent of you...and possibly not own the rights to it under certain contracts. You may need to do this with all credit bureaus, and they have 30 days to correct the record.

Edited to add...trust no one on the phone. You need it in writing. When dealing with credit bureaus you should do everything by proper letter.

I loathe talking on the phone too!

But sometimes I have to get on the line with customer service to make sure everything is sorted and running smoothly. And good companies usually have good customer service (short wait times and people who actually care to help). You can ask them how they got your contact info.

Just decline the membership if you don't want it.

Do a security freeze for free.. I just did that.. I always do when the jig is up.. and working in this business doesn't help.. I wised up and got an EIN for camming... I am very familiar with doing credit freezes and fraud alerts and I now need a pin with the IRS.. mostly from camming.

I didn't get a letter from Experian but I did get 3 letters from American Express merchant services about a federal court case against them which modified their card acceptance contract. I got the letter to my real name, my adult industry graphic design business name, and a business venture that I was involved with in the past. I don't remember ever using American Express merchant services and I don't know where they got my info, but it could have been when I was looking for merchant services in the past.

Kinda freaky how these companies get our info.

I helped fix this one friend of mines credit this summer and "deja vu" was listed as an employer. She freaked and swear she never put the strip club down. However, anytime you apply for financing, it all gets recorded. Somewhere along the way, it was reported.

OKay So I bought a burner phone and used my cam name. Should I still write them that "she" does not live here? I think that is what it from.
