Through new research, conservators have discovered more about Monet's changes to the Agapanthus. For example, on one of the canvases, conservators discovered that the image of an apapanthus plant had been painted over with a cluster of water lilies.

I believe this change is bottom or bottom left, where the river grasses are, but I may be mistaken. I am thinking this is why museum visitor was scraping it with a knife in the Onion article. I think those were hidden Monet jokes among all the SC references. Nicely done.
