Search DSLR VS Camcorder help please!

I currently shoot clips on a GoPro, its been really useful and has paid for itself a trillion times over. Its time to upgrade though. Im doing arounf $1.5k min on content each month so I think its time to upgrade equipment.

If i get a DSLR I can use it for photos too, I already have some Canon EOS lenses and have a working knowlege of Canon DSLRs

Im really not sure how they would compare to buying a high end camcorder though? Can anyone advise? I guess with the DSLR i can change lenses for various things but the lenses are expensive so i'd probably stick to the kit lens

Heres the last thread I saw about this. I just got a panasonic lumix and I love it. But I say if you already have lenses then just get the body and work from there.

I used a DSLR for filming for a little bit. I ended up getting a high end camcorder because I didn't like how the DSLR focused but that could've been the lenses I was using. If you're looking to take picture as well as film a DSLR would probably be best but you can take pictures with camcorders too. Most high end camcorders have a photo button on the remote. Either one would work fine but I'd go with a DSLR since you already have a lenses.

Basically you keep the goPRo until its broken and because a nice relic. Since you already have some knowledge on canon EOS and DSLR you could upgrade to that.

You have to look at getting cameras and other photo and video products as an investment. they are working towards your business being a cam model.

PHatgirlDynomite I'm loving the comparisons you are posting here.

Do you film more or take pics more?
I've seen plenty of professionals use DSLRs to film video, but it does get heavy to hold after a time.

Consider a 4k camcorder. A goPro is nice but not really a professional camera for shooting porn but great for amatuer stuff, i've seen them used as behind the scenes on porn shoots. If you are making money with it, use it until it breaks, wait till after Christmas for sales if you really want to step up your game then.

Most stuff has to be downgraded so it can be uploaded onto the web, so really what is the use of huge files that Dslr & 4k are, to save for the future when the internet bandwidth can handle it. As if old content can be re released years later?

It feels good to be fancy & more professional, but not when it really won't increase sales. Are your buyers complaining about quality?

It's all about the lens. The camera body is only, at most 40% of the equation when it comes to a good picture. You look for the best functions that you want in the camera body and then spend as much as you can on a good lens. If you want to use a DSLR for just YouTube vids then you don't have to spend as much on the body. If you want to stream live with your DSLR, that's a whole different story.

That review comparison is poor. She is only using the kit lens on both cameras. If she had an adapter for the Sony a5000, she could use the Canon lens on it and it would have the same picture quality. The Canon just has a better kit lens.

I just recently got the Panasonic Lumix fz1000 4k for $780 and I love it. I use it for pics but mostly filming. I'm still learning how to use but it has sooo many features like slow motion. And it can film up to 125 fps. This camera can do things that you would have to pay well over $1500 to achieve. Ive only streamed with it twice and I wasn't a big fan of my stretchmarks being amplified so NO. For years Ive used a webcam to make clips but mostly I bought this one for myself and to work on some other stuff. Here are some videos that show what my camera can do

You girls are following a passion which is more important than what is needed to film porn. Of course those skills & equipment will benefit you on the porn side, but following your passion & stretching beyond it. That is what I am stoked about.
