Is my $$$ getting pocketed?
I work at a club where customers can pay cash or credit card for dances. If they pay credit, you have to wait a few days for the money.
Well, the last few times I went to get my CC money, I felt I got about $100 less than I was supposed to. The first time it happened I assumed I was just wrong and had drank a bit too much at work/it was just me miscounting. Today it happened again when I grabbed last week's money, but it was Friday night and was PACKED so I didn't really have time to trouble the VIP hostess to see the log of all my dances from before (if they even have it still).
At the end of the night, we initial a piece of paper saying how much credit card money we made before and after tipout. Tonight it said I made a total of $425 in CC, so $380 after tipout, but I instantly felt that was wrong as I was signing it. I know for a fact I sold the following with CC tonight:
-One $250 VIP (we keep 205)
-One $355 VIP (we keep 250)
-Two 3 for $100 (we keep 70, so 140 total)
(tip out is 10% of our total)
I didn't realize until after getting home that the VIP hostess totally messed up the math. Is there a chance she is purposely doing this and pocketing my money? I only ask because I'm now doubting I was wrong in the past about being shorted, since I know for a fact they shorted me tonight on the total.
Should I go in early tomorrow and talk to them about it? (And at least make sure I get the money from tonight?) It could have been an honest mistake but I'm pretty annoyed. They have a sheet of paper that they're supposed to write our dances on right when we sign in to do them.

I think it's totally worth it. If they get away with it once they will keep doing it. Who knows if she's pocketing it or if she's bad at math but either way you're entitled to your money and worked hard for it. I'd rather feel stupid for falsely accusing someone than consistently be missing out on hundreds of dollars

Re: Is my $$$ getting pocketed?
Should I mention the previous weeks money as well and maybe ask to see the cameras? Is that taking it too far? I work at another club also so I'm not stressing if I can't return to this one

I definitely would bring up previous weeks too, to add some legitimacy and show you're not stupid (I know you're not but for some reason staff thinks we are...) good luck and let us know how it goes!!

Re: Is my $$$ getting pocketed?
I worked in a club that had a similar method. Not a single dancer was ever accidentally "overpaid" but more often than not, the dancers felt like they had done more than was being paid out. I kept my own record separate from the club's record, along with the customer's names so that way if anyone doubted my count I had a name to attach to the sale. A tiny notebook in your purse and a pen is all you need to make a quick note about your earnings for the shift.
Trust your gut. In my case, one of the cashiers was totally stealing from the dancers. She got away with it for a long time, too.
