    Default Operation no more Rumination

I've decided to start a thread dedicated to ideas on things to do to keep depression/sadness/anxiety/the blues away. I know some of us suffer from these issues, and with winter coming, that certainly doesn't help. I have a BAD tendency to ruminate and think about things that happened in the past, or obsess over things (like I gained a couple inches since I stopped breastfeeding, despite working out, or I feel unloved for whatever reason, who knows). Sooooo...here is my list of stuff to do/look forward to to stop ruminating! Feel free to add to it!

Instead of obsessing/ruminating/worrying about other people (is so-and-sos life better than mine??!) I could....

    1) Work out! DVDs, yoga, the gym or jogging in the brisk cold. My goal is to do an NPC competition next year, so this should be a daily thing for me.
    2) Take my dog on a walk/run. I feel like my little man needs to get out more!
    3) Play with my daughter. She's only 3 mo. right now, but today she was trying to get my attention for play time. Hearing her laugh made my bad mood so much better.
    4) Journal and write about my feelings. I always feel better when I do this.
    5) Drink some tea! Only classic Tension Tamer in this house!
    6) Listen to Hed Kandi/House music
    7) Write a list of goals for next year. Planning out my honeymoon and looking to see when the EDC comes to my town are big on the list.
Window shopping online for rave wear for the EDC!
    9) Making a boudoir book. Was gonna do it for husband, but it's fun to do it just to see me being all cute and stuff.
10)Burning candles or incense that smell great and lift my mood.
    11) Watch a show or shows I like, such as Intervention. Take some needed couch time!
    12) Plan a spa day. Make time to do my hair, nails, face.
    13) Set money goals for the week!
    14) Read/get a new ebook (yes, it is an addiction).

Add away with other suggestions, guys!

This is SO me. I have a few things from my own list:

    1) Spend some time with the squirrels at the park. I just went for the first time in ages the other day. Fun little guys.
    2) Put on Pandora's relaxation station
    3) Hydrate!
    4) Work on stuff for my support group
    5) Play a distracting game like Plants vs Zombies or Fruit Ninja

I really do need to try meditation. Adult coloring is becoming a really big thing. I printed out a few sheets for the group and someone found it helpful.
I wish I could lose myself in a book, but when the anxiety/worry is high, it makes it too hard to concentrate. Plus, it seems that no matter what it is I'm trying to forget, books, TV, the internet, songs on the radio, etc. all conspire to remind me.

There's the Law of Attraction group, and/or the positive vids on you tube, ($ manifestation, etc.)
I love going out in nature, it helps relax me. Yoga too. That's all I have for now.

I know this isn't about medications or supplements, but 2 grams of Omega 3's/day has helped my obsessive thought patterns (I mention this frequently on SW). I buy OmegaVia.

Charlie, I have thought about using those. I am vegetarian, so I don't know how much that would screw with me/make me sick (Omegas are usually fish oil, right?)

I know how I get once it's winter (and I get stuck inside more=more obsessive). I think the only omega that is not animal by-product is flaxseed??

    I don't think they'd make you sick!
