I started at a new club a few weeks ago. I love everything about the club however I make a good portion of my money by selling champagne rooms. After 30 minutes (or an hour, whichever) the DJ is supposed to announce over the microphone that your time is up. However, sometimes the manager himself will come over and stop the time too.
Well, out of all the CRs I've done so far, the club has forgotten about us altogether OVER HALF THE TIME. Now obviously, the smart thing to do is just time them myself, which is what I've started doing. However they are also supposed to give us free champagne after buying which has also been forgotten more times than not. While many customers don't care too much about the champagne, I can definitely tell that not getting everything that was promised kills the mood for some of them who otherwise may have bought more time. Plus, I find it way easier to sell another half hour if the guy is super horny and drunk versus sobering up towards the end (which puts him in the mindset to go home). Last night a customer actually got somewhat grumpy when he realized our drinks weren't coming.
I wasn't sure whether to blame the DJ or the manager at this point, the manager said it was the DJs fault but I have a feeling it's also slightly his own, though I could be wrong. I say this because we have 3 DJs and all 3 of them have done this...and I doubt all of them are all that forgetful. I'm thinking the manager is somehow forgetting to log it. I'm also not sure how much tip out to take away from the DJ (I tip 20 on average, its 10 minimum) because I'm known for tipping well and the staff really appreciates it, but I also need to make it clear they can't waste my time like that (especially if my phone is ever broken/forgotten and I have no way to time it myself). *But* I'd feel awful if it was, in fact, the manager who was at fault and I took $$ away from the DJ
Should I have a private talk with the manager and let him know I'm getting really concerned that they keep forgetting both about our time and our drinks? How should I ask him in a non-rude or awkward way whose fault it really is/who I shouldn't be tipping as much? I don't want to switch clubs because I bank here and love the club itself. This is the only real negative about the club
Side note: While other girls say this has happened to them, it has been happening to me more than anyone else from what I can tell. I've never actually seen it happen, even the drinks being forgotten, to anyone else
