I was in a Lyft vehicle and got rear ended. I wasn't wearing a seatbelt. I felt like I got smacked. Almost knocked me to the front seat. I tried calling the police on the scene but they would not come out since no one had to go to the hospital. I went to my family doctor the next day to get checked up. My doctor said I have whiplash. I received a call from Lyft's insurance company and they gave me their claim #. They also sent me an affidavit of no insurance since I told them I didn't own health insurance. I received the letter and I got myself a personal injury lawyer. Since I live with my dad and he owns auto insurance. I have to use his insurance for my treatments.
I've been going to the chiropractor 2-3x a week. I'm finally feeling a lot better. I've been having back & neck pains since the accident. My lawyer said since my dad has limited tort policy the case would be very hard to fight. I also had to take a short break from work since it would hurt my case. I put down that I'm a dancer and the club I'm dancing at on my dads insurance paper work. I felt so stupid. I shouldn't have put that I worked.
I haven't heard from my lawyer and neither have I gotten an estimate of my settlement check.
Any my insights on this??
